It's... It's Over
Lina ran as fast as her feet took her. She stumbled a few times and fell twice, yet she stood up and ran while tears streamed down her face. She was chanting prayers that she wouldn't be late to get help for Sylvia.
She finally slowed down her pace near a house. Opening the white gate, she barged in and ran to the door. But a hand appeared out of the dark and pulled her back. She was about to scream in fright when the other hand covered her mouth.
Corbin's face appeared in front of her, and under the moonlight, Lina finally relaxed.
"Shhhh! My aunt and uncle are sleeping." He whispered before letting go of her.
He couldn't sleep every night. The nightmares he had ruined his sleep. He felt restless sitting in his room, and disturbing his uncle and aunt was not an option for Corbin. So he came out to sit on the swing in their small garden.
He was lost in his thoughts when he heard rapid footsteps. And then Lina ran through the gate.
