Hermione was completely baffled as she followed behind Servyn. Where they were heading to was unknown to her but she obediently tagged along according to his instructions.
She had wondered about what sought of relationship the prince shared with the other Lords. Was it enough to understand each other's thought without outrightly speaking? She fiddled in her mind remembering that Cesarean had not dropped what ever idea he proposed to have.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, Lord korden had become alert as though whatever was on Cesarean's mind was bad news. Not to forget the thoughtful expression the prince gave Cesarean before commanding her to follow him. This was all strange or was it just her overthinking?
Her thoughts went still when a big two way door was swung open by Servyn, he then walked in and she was reluctant at first but she walked in with him.
Her eyes widen when they met the surprising view. It was no doubt a bedroom, but it was spacious, no! Spacious was an understatement to describe it. The wideness spread out to the four corners of the room, giving it's length and width a promising measurement. It was dark. Even the curtains that fell all the way from the ceiling to the ground was also black.
Was this where they planned on keeping her? No, this was too way too much. Even if she was punished she won't agree to sleep here. Glancing around the place one last time, her eyes met the huge king sized bed, which was intricately design by expensive gold. The blinds, the window panes, even the ceiling, everything screamed luxury. And Hermione couldn't make herself comfortable in such environment.
She slowly turned around looking where the Prince stood, and she saw him standing at the darkest corner of the room which had the blinds covered.
"Your Highness, I'm really sorry but I cannot stay here." Said Hermione looking very grateful.
Servyn turned to her on her words. He quietly sized her up with his eyes before a smug smile found it's way to his lip.
'Finally.' Hermione breathed inwardly, seeing him eventually going back to his usual annoying self.
"It is not for you. But us."
If Cesarean had not exploded the grenade out loud, then Servyn's words really did.
Hermione was quiet for a while, looking at him as though she heard wrongly. Expecting him to laugh it out and say he was just trying to tease her. But minutes had passed and he still looked at her smugly, as if trying to guage her expression.
"I…umm…I….I don't understand…. what you mean, your….umm….Your Highness." Hermione stammered, finding it difficult to present her confusion.
Servyn exhaled exhaustingly. His leather boots tapped on the wooden floor as he strode near her.
"The castle is under guard, and I assume you know what that means?" Servyn asked her.
Hermione had confusion marred on her face. "No." She replied slowly.
"It means right now, not everyone is supposed to be trusted within this castle. Some might be the eyes and ears of the king." Servyn explained.
Then what does that have to do with her, why is she supposed to stay here….and with him.
She felt like screaming those words out loud.
A glint of amusement danced in his eyes while he stared at her. "You will have to stay here because we don't know who might rattle you out to the king. Don't forget your reputation in Avalon. If the king for a second, suspects you, trust me, even I can't save you from being burnt at the stake." Servyn detailed out, igniting uncertainties in her mind.
Hermione was silent for a while as his words sank into her head, all this while her unsure gaze on him. After what seemed like forever she opened up her mouth. "Was this Lord Cesarean's idea?" Questioned Hermione.
Servyn nodded responsively.
Hermione nodded. "I will head home then." She spouted and was ready to sprint out but was obstructed by his hold that grabbed her wrist.
Hermione breathed out tiredly, she paused but didn't turn to him until she heard him say.
"You rather take the risk of walking amidst the dangers than staying in a room with me." He remarked still holding her hand.
Hermione looked at him with squinted brows.
He looked unaffected contrary to how his words came out.
Servyn slowed his steps, not letting go of her wrist as he stood in a close range behind her, her back equivalent to his lower chest level. "Do I give you such danger signs, Hermione?" He said in small whispers.
Hermione frowned at his actions. She tried to break free from his grasp but to no avail. She was silent to his question not knowing what befitting reply to give.
"Tell me. Do you see me as someone dangerous to you?" He repeated in hush voices.
Hermione let out a silent gasp as she felt him draw nearer, her back was leaning on his muscular chest already and his heat collided with hers.
What was she supposed to say? That yes, he was the number one danger she feared. Though not physically but emotionally.
"I am not letting you go until you answer me Hermione. Do you think I'm dangerous to you?" Servyn drawled lazily but intentionally.
Her words were lost when she felt his hot breath hit her ears. He was talking right above her ear and it sent a tickle down her spine. The firmness of his hand on her wrist not reducing one bit, instead it tighten around it. Another unwanted gasp escaped her lips, and she felt a smirk from him. She couldn't see it but she knew it, she felt it.
Her heartbeat had increased tenfold as it rammed without any caution. The closeness illicited some kind of sophicating, yet foreign feelings from her.
"Tell me Hermione." He urged.
Oh Lord help her! She cried inwardly.
"Don't let me use my authority on you Hermione, I won't like it either." His lazy words dance into her ears which felt pregnant from his deep yet, sexily husky voice.
And as though she was possessed by the devil, Hermione didn't know what made her turn around towards him. And immediately she did, she outrightly regretted her actions.
