Just as she anticipated, his red eyes blazed with an unquenchable fury.
But her smile never ceased, nor did she try to conceal it.

Truth be told, he had thought of it numerous times. But he didn't want to consider his mother a Liar, no!
And Elphaba, making mention of it, did nothing but worsen his anger, therefore fueling the doubts that had been sprouting like grass.
