Chapter 16: The Gate Of Wonder...

It's been about a month since I broke through to the 3rd stage of Qi cultivation and I am currently on the cusp of opening the 3rd gate, the gate of wonder for my body cultivation. I have also become a lot more confident in my flying and gotten over my fears so that's nice. When it comes to my looks, it took a while but I finally got used to the sudden change. Now my mother, on the other hand, found it a little harder, while my father somehow just chalked it up to puberty. I don't really know how he came to that conclusion but I'll take it.

- 1 month earlier -

Coming out of the training room I run into my dad going down to do some training. After standing there and looking at me for a minute he finally laughs and says.

*haha* "So my boy finally hit puberty! Good good! Now that you are at that age I guess I need to give you the talk huh?"

"... Uh, what?"

"Well you see son when a man and a women love each other a lot or are attracted to each other they will want to have a lot of se..."

"DAD! STOP! I DO NOT NEED THIS TALK. I know how babies are made and I know to use protection. now instead of having that conversation let me show you what I can do now! it's really cool."

"Son I will understand and accept you even if you are gay. But with your own father... don't get me wrong I'm flattered..."

"What the hell is wrong with you? Why did mom marry you?" *Under breath* "She could do so much better." "I am not talking about that I wanted to show you I could fly now!"

*haha* "That's good you had me scared for a moment there! But you can fly now? That's awesome! I wish I could fly. Now show me what you got"

After showing him I could fly my mother walked in from somewhere upstairs, she sees me flying around and her jaw hits the floor!

"What is going on?"

"I can fly now! pretty cool huh"

"I can see that. what I'm talking about are your looks. What happened did someone do that to you? try to make you look like some vampire greek god of a 12-year-old?" *smile* *demon illusion*

*shiver* "ah... uh... no, I think, I think it's a late side effect of my power. It happens... sometimes... right?"

"Yes, it happens sometimes. But are you sure no strange person tried to touch you and make you look like that? If they did you can tell mommy, I'll... deal with the situation..." *devil illusion starts to smile as well*

(It smiles, that new) "Uh... no, i... I'm sure it has to do with my power."

"As long as your sure honey. You know I would do anything to protect you right?"

"Yeah I know, I love you to mom"

So now that a month has passed since then its time to break through and open the gate of wonder. This is one of the most important gates to open in my opinion. Strength is one thing but speed is entirely different. With enough speed, you can easily counter pure strength because the person with pure strength will never be able to hit you. Now there are counters to speed, and as long as the strongman is also smart he can take down the speeder. But I will have both the speed and the strength so it will be like having the best of both worlds with none of the negatives. Usually, a speeder is really fast but not really strong and durable while a strongman is usually really strong and durable but not really fast making them on occasions sitting ducks. But I will be fast, durable, and strong making me a hell of an opponent to come across.

Sitting down in the lotus pose I prepare myself to the best of my ability and begin the breakthrough process. The pain that I have come to expect begins but when I think that my head will feel like it's about to explode like it did last time, something unexpected happens. Instead of having a massive pressure in my ears, every muscle in my body starts to spasm like I have been struck by lightning. And that is exactly what it feels like, it feels like I am being struck with lightning as my muscles spasm at what feels like little ants made of electricity crawl under my skin and burrow into the fibers of my muscle. The feeling is the worst thing I have ever felt. I would much prefer the pressure in my head that made it feel like it would pop like a cheap party balloon then this endless torture. But I can't go back now so I do all I can to stay conscious and endure the pain.

Finally, after a grueling hour, the pain finally stops. Laying there, breathing I take in the changes in my body. While before I was all bulk like a man who trains only strength and has never stepped on a treadmill on his life, now I look like a more rounded athlete. The muscle and weight are still there, it has just simply become more compact with my body looking more like a very strong and ripped fighter than someone who would be competing for the world's strongest man. Standing up I try to make my way to the mirror when instead of walking there I trip and slam my face into the ground.

Thinking about it I am not used to the increase in speed at all. While my body might be there my mind has yet to catch up.

*sigh* "It seems I will have to learn to walk again. well positives, at least I have experience in learning to control my strength. So with a little time and practice, I'm sure I will get this handled. But for now... I guess I'll fly a half-inch above the ground to get around."

-3 months later-

After 3 months I have learned to control my speed as well as test my max speed. I can currently fly and run at 100 mph without the increase in gravity and I can come to a complete stop and accelerate instantly whenever I want. the acceleration and stopping are quite nice. It will allow me to surprise people because most speeders can't instantly be traveling at there max speed. It takes them a little while to reach it. Now don't get me wrong those few moments are very fast but it is still a weakness that can be exploited. Same with the instant stopping, most speedsters can't do that with it taking them a little time to come to a stop which can be used against them.

Now on the other side of the coin, I am not anywhere close to the top speedsters in terms of pure speed. there are some who run faster than the speed of sound, and I'm only at the top speed of a Prius or something. but I'm sure with enough training I will get faster. especially with my gravity increase, by making myself heavier than it's like wearing weights and trying to sprint, it's really good training.
