Chapter 2: Mysterious Sea Monster
After his breakthrough to the 5th layer of Qi Gathering, Wang Shenyang decided that it would be best to take some time to consolidate and polish his new cultivation base.
He quickly swallows a seclusion pill as a substitute for food, which means it helps the lower-level cultivators with their need for food. So when they're in seclusion, they wouldn't be distracted by their hunger.
As he was absorbing spiritual Qi an ocean blue light started to manifest around his body. Nearly half an hour later, Wang Shenyang releases a breath of impure air and gives a thought command.

Alchemists are ranked from 1 to 9 and the pills that can be refined are categorized as Low-grade, Mid-grade, High-grade, Top-grade.
Top grade above the 3rd rank pills almost never appear within the Great Eastern Sea.

Maybe I can even leave this backwatered island which only has a Rank 1 mid-grade Spirit Vein and go back to Fallen Dragon Island which has a Rank 3 high grade Spirit Vein. After a couple hours, Wang Shenyang had a pale look on his face as if all the blood in his body was sucked away mysteriously.
Within these few tiresome hours of pill refining, he was able to successfully refine 43 rank 1 high-grade Qi Pill.
Also reaching the overall success rate of 40%.
"Sigh, and here I thought that I could reach a success rate of 50% and become an official Rank 1 high-grade alchemist."
Just as the morning sun was rising, Wang Shenyang heard distressed voices call out to him from outside the temple.
"Lord immortal, please help us!"
"Lord Celestial Master, we besiege you to please help us overcome this calamity"
Wang Shenyang quickly rushed to the source of the racket and found dozens of mortal villagers on their knees begging him.
"I demand silence!" A loud demanding voice came from within the temple.
At that moment, the countless sounds of begging and pleading stopped.
Wang Shenyang turned his gaze towards an elderly man at the front of the group and said with a disterning voice
"What's the matter with all of you? What caused pleading and begging?"
"Lord Immortal, please forgive us for disturbing us, but recently a sea monster with red horns near the harbor where we usually go fishing. Currently 4 villagers have already drowned due to the monstrous fish."
Wang Shenyang's eyes darkened and became serious.
"Alright, I understand."
"Return to your houses and don't go anywhere near the harbor. I'll take care of this matter myself so don't worry." He said assuring the villagers.
"Thank you, Lord Immortal, for your generosity. I bid you a farewell." The villagers spoke as they returned back to their homes with content in their hearts.
"It seems I better get ready to fight this sea monster." Wang ShenYang went back into the temple.
He then pulled out a Black Spear embroidered with a coiled golden serpent.
"If it's a sea monster then the element that it controls is water, which means in order to cause a good amount of damage, I will need to utilize Earth elements talismans. I might need to use my golden serpent coil spear to restrain it."
He quickly threw the Earth element talismans into his spatial bag and disappeared in a blue flash.
3 minutes later, a Wang Shenyang figure appeared standing on the water.
He soon felt the water start to fluctuate in an abnormal manner. The blue sea which was calm just a few seconds ago became tabulated and dark.
Suddenly, 2 great horns of crimson came out of the water and plunged towards Wang Shenyang. Wang Shenyang activated his Blue Light Steps movement technique and by the length of a hair, dodged the sea monster's sneak attack.
And gasped in horror as he had a much clearer vision of the Monster before him.
The monster fish had 2 eyes the color of blood coupled with 2 crimson horns, a cyan body that glowed like an emerald, with dragon scales that released a large amount of dragon might.
As Wang Shenyang look towards this monsterous fish, he subcunsously released these words in terror.
"Crimson Horned Dragon Fish!!!"
