Chapter 17: Special Ritual

After spending many days observing the Cloud Breaking Beasts, Wang Shenyang decided to take action against them.

He created a ritual that would allow him to summon one of the Cloud-Breaking Beasts to his location.

"It called to separate the child from its mother, then ambush the mother." Wang Shenyang thought to himself as he revealed an evil smile.

Wang Shenyang then used a small amount of spirit wood to which he placed several offerings: two pieces of spirit apples, a bundle of dried weeds, and a bowl filled with water, all of with were drugged.

He snuck up on a calf and then placed his bait near it.

The Cloud Breaking Beast Calf immediately pounced upon the offering.

"It will now consume all of this in seconds." Wang Shenyang thought to himself as he waited for his plan to work.

Sure enough, after several minutes, the Cloud Breaking Beast began to shake violently.

Wang Shenyang jumped from his hiding spot quickly snatching the young calf from its feet.

"Finally." Wang Shenyang thought to himself as he took the Cloud Breaking Beast from its mother.

The moment he did, the Cloud Breaking Beast Calf's mother roared ferociously.

Wang Shenyang quickly ran in the opposite direction to the herd.

"HAHAHA!!!" he laughed like a maniac while he ran.

Wang Shenyang's plan worked perfectly.

He captured a Cloud Breaking Beast and brought it back to his lair. He had hoped that it would be able to help him in his quest for the Cloud Breaking Beast's inner core.

Wang Shenyang examined the mother beast and found out that he in truth had attracted not one but two adult Cloud breaking Beasts at the top of the first Rank which is equal to two Late Stage Qi Gathering Cultivators and he is but a mere cultivator in the 6th level of Qi gathering.

Wang Shenyang was shocked.

He wasn't expecting to encounter such 2 powerful beasts so early in his journey.

He decided to use a trap that was designed by an ancient sect known as the Xiao Xian Sect.

This trap involved using a special type of grass that could absorb a spirit beast's energy and deter its senses.

The Grass could then be activated by either an object or a person.

When the Grass was activated, the Cloud Breaking Beasts would feel a sudden loss of energy.

To prevent the Cloud Breaking Beasts from escaping, Wang Shenyang had to bind them to place.

He quickly got right to work, binding the Cloud Breaking Beasts with vines. Before he could complete the task, however, the Cloud Breaking Beasts began to convulse violently.

Wang Shenyang was baffled by this unexpected phenomenon.

A few moments later, he realized that it must have been the grass activating.

Wang Shenyang removed the vines from the Cloud Breaking Beasts. He could immediately tell that the beasts had lost considerable amounts of energy.

Wang Shenyang was certain that this would be enough to weaken them.

After spending several days observing the 2 Cloud Breaking Beasts, Wang Shenyang began to consider whether they were truly weak.

During their past few days had already returned the calf to the herd like nothing had happened. Wang Shenyang feared that these Cloud-Breaking Beasts may be able to escape his trap.

"How am I supposed to kill it without it entering berserker mode and at the same time preserving its inner core? I don't have any choice. I have to kill it with one move and almost instantly."

Wang Shenyang thought to himself as he continued to watch the 2 Cloud Breaking Beasts.

Wang Shenyang knew that killing the Cloud Breaking Beast would not be easy.

Not only did he have to deal with the Cloud Breaking Beast's ferocious nature, but also had to contend with its incredible physical strength and agility.

"Alright then, let's do this."

Wang Shenyang thought as he reached into his bag and pulled out his 6 flying swords.

The swords shone brilliantly under the light of the sun as they turned towards the 2 Cloud Breaking Beasts.

Wang Shenyang released his Flood Dragon bloodline to gain some extra firepower and to suppress the 2 beasts using bloodline suppression.

At the same time, Wang Shenyang fused the dragon qi with his spirit techniques.

"Ok, now is the time to show these bulldozer bastards who's boss."

He thought to himself as he readied his six flying swords and then went straight in for the kill.

The Cloud Breaking Beasts barely avoided Wang Shenyang's attacks with all the strength that they could muster up.

Wang Shenyang quickly realized that the Cloud Breaking Beasts had reached a point where they were like sitting ducks waiting to be slaughtered.

He launched a barrage of cutting attacks at the Cloud Breaking Beasts until it was too late. The Cloud Breaking Beasts were riddled with deep cuts that caused them to bleed profusely.

The Cloud Breaking Beast's body was covered in wounds from head to toe.

The fly swords had even penetrated their necks which was the main reason for the death.

"Now it's time for the ugly part, the butchering." Wang Shenyang thought as he summoned his spirit knife.

The blades on his sword glowed red as they moved across the Cloud Breaking Beasts' corpses cutting and butchering them like one would with a normal cow.

This lasted for nearly 3 hours, Wang Shenyang then held 2 light blue crystal-like cores.

He quickly threw the 2 inner cores into his primary storage bag and looked towards the remains of the Cloud Breaking Beasts.

"Even their bodies are considered a bundle of delicacies and are extremely nutritious for a cultivator's body." he thought to himself as he pulled the bodies into his spare storage bags.

"Better get the hell out of here before the blood attracts other demon beasts." Wang Shenyang then heard a scream in the distance.

"Damn, those Cloud Breaking Beasts are coming back." Wang Shenyang thought to himself as he quickly activated his flying sword and rose to the skies where he left the island, flying in the direction of Black Pearl Sea territory.
