Chapter 16: Bulldozer Bastards

He was naked, and his clothes lay scattered around him. Wang Shenyang quickly got to work seeing if anything was missing from his belongings.

To his surprise, everything seemed to be in order.

"So far so good," thought Wang Shenyang.

He slowly rose from the ground and stretched his stiff muscles. Quickly wore his clothes and turned around, he noticed a door that led to an outside area behind him.

Curious, Wang Shenyang approached the wooden entrance and opened it.

There he saw a large garden filled with lush greenery and colorful plants. In the distance, there was an open field covered with tall grasses.

"Guess I'm back on the island."

Wang Shenyang grinned triumphantly.

He continued exploring his new domain until he reached a clearing near the center of the island.

Here, Wang Shenyang discovered something interesting.

Atop a rocky hill, there was a stone slab inscribed with ancient writing.

"This should be by the famed Breaking Cloud Beast Nest" Wang Shenyang murmured.

He climbed up the rock and peered over the edge.

Below, he found a large white beastly figure. Its wingspan was almost thirty feet wide and its legs were longer than most horses. The creature's body glowed with a faint blue color, giving it an eerie luminescence.

Wang Shenyang realized that the beast resembled a cow, but unlike cows who possessed hooves, they have tiger paws.

The beast was facing away from Wang Shenyang, but he could see that the monster had long fangs protruding from between its jaws.

The beast was munching contentedly on a pile of spirit wood.

Wang Shenyang watched the animal curiously.

As soon as the beast finished eating, it lumbered into the bushes.

Wang Shenyang followed and waited patiently for several minutes.

Finally, the beast reappeared.

Wang Shenyang was surprised to discover that the beast had changed form completely. It now appeared as a cow with massive deer antlers.

"No wonder they have the word "Cloud" in their name" Wang Shenyang whispered to himself. "Well, guess I can't do much about it now."

Wang Shenyang decided to return to the cave instead.

The next morning, Wang Shenyang woke up early to start preparing to hunt the Cloud Breaking Beast.

He gathered up his supplies and headed for the clearing.

Wang Shenyang spent the entire afternoon looking for the creature, but he didn't find it anywhere.

"Damn!" Wang Shenyang cursed quietly.

He returned to his cave and began to prepare for another night of hunting.

The next day, Wang Shenyang awoke early and went out to search for the Cloud Breaking Beast.

He searched for hours without success before finally returning to his cave.

However, he was disappointed to discover that the beast had left his lair.

"Great," Wang Shenyang thought bitterly.

He was so close to finding the Cloud Breaking Beast, but then it just disappeared.

Wang Shenyang knew that he needed to find a way to lure the creature back to his nest, and soon.

While Wang Shenyang was searching for the Cloud Breaking Beast, he heard a roaring sound in the distance. He listened closely and realized that the noise came from a nearby clearing.

"I wonder what's making that noise," Wang Shenyang thought.

He hurried into the woods and hid inside a thicket of trees.

As he peered through the branches, Wang Shenyang was startled to see a massive beast charging toward him at full speed. The creature was large enough to swallow a car whole!

"Oh shit!" Wang Shenyang cried out.

A white tiger leaped past the trees and landed in the clearing.

The beast has covered with fur the color of ivory. It had long fangs protruding from its mouth, and its eyes glowed with an ominous yellowish-green light. Wang Shenyang stepped back in fear as the tiger charged toward him.

Before it could reach him, Wang Shenyang ran his blue light steps at full speed. Once he got far enough away, he stopped and turned around.

"Now what?" Wang Shenyang wondered.

The tiger roared angrily at him and dashed forward.

"Oh no!" Wang Shenyang screamed in terror.

The tiger leaped onto the ground with impressive speed and knocked Wang Shenyang flat on his ass. "What kind of sh*t luck is this? I come for an omnivorous beast but then attract a giant White tiger with a sweet tooth for human flesh which is also comparable to a peak Qi gathering realm Cultivator. What the hell is wrong with this world?!" Wang Shenyang yelled in frustration.

The tiger pounced on him and pinned him down on the ground. "Do you think I'm made of sugar, you oversize kitty?" Wang Shenyang laughed mockingly.

The tiger roared furiously in response.

Suddenly Wang Shenyang felt a sharp pain in his neck, but as the tiger was going in for the kill, Wang Shenyang hears a familiar roar which causes him and the white tiger to freeze up in terror.

They pause for a second then look to the source of the roar, only to see a great dust cloud looming from the side of the forest.

Wang Shenyang realized that the Cloud Breaking Beasts had returned to their lair.

Wang Shenyang and the white tiger quickly started sprinting in the opposite direction.

The cloud had already enveloped them completely.

Wang Shenyang quickly got on his flying sword and flew away, unfortunately, the tiger didn't make it and died within the dozens of Cloud-breaking beasts. Wang Shenyang was now alone in this strange land.

After Wang Shenyang was saved from the herd's tyrannical barrage, he traveled around the island, trying to observe the Cloud Breaking Beasts.

He learned that these beasts were capable of transforming into different forms depending on their surroundings.

For example, the Cloud Breaking Beast that attacked him was a half-step foundation stage cultivator.

According to Wang Shenyang, the Cloud Breaking Beast was once a normal wild cow species that lived on the island. However, it was later transformed into a True Cultivation Beast when it fell into a pond filled with the blood of a Peak Golden Core innate shapeshifting beast of some sort.

That's when the Cloud Breaking Beast acquired the ability to transform parts of itself into other types of animals.

Many high leveled cultivators believed that this change also gave the Cloud Breaking Beast the ability to absorb the energy of its prey.

This proved to be true because Wang Shenyang observed that the Cloud-Breaking Beasts were always hungry.

If the Cloud Breaking Beast captures an animal, it will devour its prey whole. However, if the Cloud Breaking Beast successfully captures its prey, it will digest the meat and retain only the prey's innate energy.

From that point on, the Cloud Breaking Beast will grow stronger in both its physical abilities as well as spiritual power.

Wang Shenyang then realized that the Cloud Breaking Beasts were somewhat intelligent creatures.

They were able to communicate with each other, and sometimes they would even fight among themselves. Wang Shenyang was amazed at how much he had learned about these beasts in such a short time.

"Ok, now is not the time to be fascinated with these bulldozer bastards." Wang Shenyang said to himself. "I need to find a way to defeat these things."
