Chapter Two

I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off a few times and I groaned as I sat up, turning it off. "Nine ten? Diabhal.." I stretched before getting out of bed and walking into the kitchen where I was greeted by my friend. "Good morning. Nice bed head by the way," Tiffanie smiled at me and I smoothed my hair down in response. "Mornin'," I sat down, letting out another yawn. "Focáil." "Hey, you know how I feel about swearing this early in the morning." She said, flipping the bacon which caused some grease to pop on one of her arms, making her jump back. "Shit!" I giggled and she looked over at me, frowning. "That's not funny.." She said and she took four waffles out of the toaster before putting two on each plate with some bacon. She gave me a plate hitherto sitting across from me at the table. "I'm surprised you remembered a few of my swears," I spoke up as I took a bite of my breakfast. "Hey, after living with you for three years I have finally learned and remembered the swear words you say." She responded.

"So, you goin' to work today?" She asked and I shook my head. "Níl. The manager gave the three of us off for today and tomorrow." I told her as I took another bite of my food. Tiffanie raised one of her eyebrows as she poured some syrup. "Maybe you should hang out with your lady friend today then." She grinned and I smiled back. "Maybe I will." I voiced and she sniffled, wiping away fake tears. "My baby is growing up so fast." I just chuckled and shook my head as I finished my breakfast. "Cibé rud," I then heard my phone go off and I checked the screen before letting out a sigh which made Tiffanie look over at me in confusion. "Who is it?" "Lindsey." I told her and she nodded as she finished before she stood up and took both our plates into the kitchen. I sat back in my chair and listened as the sink ran as she washed the plates when my phone began to ring, startling me. "Fuck. Hello?" I answered the phone. "𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐞!" Lindsey squealed into the phone.

"Íosa! What, what is it?" "𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐬!" She exclaimed. "Why? What for?" I asked with a sigh. "𝐃𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞! 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐦𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐮𝐲 𝐈 𝐦𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤!" She told me and I shook my head. "What is Lindsey saying?" Tiffanie asked. "She wants me to come with her to the movies on a double date so she can hit it off with this guy she recently met." I told her, shaking my head. "You should go. And take jade with you!" She said with a smile. "Who is the guy you're going with again?" I query, putting Lindsey ln speaker. "𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 å𝐡 𝐬å 𝐬𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐠 𝐠𝐮𝐲 𝐈 𝐦𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐚 𝐝𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭. 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐉𝐚𝐤𝐞." She responded. "Wait a minute.. You mean that guy?" "𝐘𝐞𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐠𝐮𝐲! 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞. 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐉𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥, 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐚 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐞𝐫." I looked at Tiffanie who had the biggest grin on her face and I sighed.

"Ceart go leor, fine I'll come along." "𝐘𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐚𝐲!" She squealed into the phone and I turned my volume down a smidge. "Yeah, alright. Text me the theater we're going to meet at, alright?" "𝐉𝐚𝐣𝐚, 𝐛𝐲𝐞!" And with that, I hung up the phone. "Well, I need to get ready for 𝑚𝑦 date. Have fun on yours LynLyne." Tiffanie aid as she walked towards her room. 𝐼 𝑚𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑎𝑠 𝑤𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝑚𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑎𝑔𝑒 𝐽𝑎𝑑𝑒.. I thought as I unlocked my phone, noticing that I had a message request on Messenger.

𝐻𝑖𝑖, 𝐼 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤 𝐼 𝑔𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑚𝑦 𝑛𝑢𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟, 𝑏𝑢𝑡 𝐼 𝑗𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑡𝑒𝑥𝑡 𝑠𝑒𝑒𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑤𝑒 𝑤𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑔𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑜 ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑔 𝑜𝑢𝑡

𝑠𝑜𝑜𝑜𝑜 𝐼 𝑙𝑜𝑜𝑘𝑒𝑑 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑢𝑝 𝑜𝑛 𝐹𝑎𝑐𝑒𝑏𝑜𝑜𝑘 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐼'𝑚 𝑠𝑜𝑟𝑟𝑦 𝑖𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑤𝑒𝑖𝑟𝑑.

I caught myself smiling at her message noticing how subtle and cute it was before I responded, accepting the message request.

𝐼𝑡'𝑠 𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑒, 𝐼 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑗𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑡𝑒𝑥𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑎𝑛𝑦𝑤𝑎𝑦𝑠

After I hit send, she was immediate to reply back.

𝐻𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑦 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑠 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡𝑜𝑑𝑎𝑦?

I thought for a moment to decide how to word my message back, not wanting to make it a long one but also didn't want to give her a simple answer either. Finally, I replied back.

I read over my reply and wished I could've reworded it somehow and I watched as she began to type in response.

I quickly looked back at my recent messages with Lindsey before responding to Jade.

I smiled to myself after I read her message. 𝐼𝑡'𝑠 𝑎 𝑑𝑎𝑡𝑒. I thought to myself happily as I stood up and headed into my room to get ready.

Once I got to the theater, I noticed Lindsey by herself near the front, looking down at her phone. "You know it's kind of dangerous to be out here by yourself, right? Could get snatched up even with many people around." I voiced as I stood next to her and she looked up. "Hej på dig med, Maddie." She smiled and I crossed my arms which made her chuckle nervously. "I thought he was already with you when you called Lindsey.." I said, tapping my foot before looking at the time. "Yeah uh.. Well actually.. I sorta texted him after I had called you.." Lindsey responded and I groaned in irritation. "Dáiríre?" "Förlåt.." She apologized and I sighed. "Let's just wait for them to get here then. Should probably be getting here at the same time." I voiced and the two of us waited a while. After about twenty minutes had passed, Lindsey's date arrived. "Jake!" She squealed his name as she walked over to him, them embracing in a hug and I shifted uncomfortably as they kissed.

"Is that your friend?" He asked, gesturing to me. "Dia dhuit.." I greeted somewhat quietly, suddenly feeling the shyness wash over me. "Ja. Her date is a just running a bit late so let's wait a bit more." Lindsey said to him and he nodded. "Not an issue, the movie doesn't start for a little anyhow."

𝐉𝐚𝐝𝐞

It had been an hour since I had last talked to Madelyne and I finally arrived at the theater. Once I got there, I immediately saw her and ran over. "Thank you for waiting on me," I sighed in relief. "My Uber driver got lost getting to my house." I laughed nervously. "It's alright, sometimes directions cane get confusing." Madelyne responded with a warm smile which made my heart skip a beat. I suddenly heard a gasp and a woman stood next to Madelyne. "Herregud, your outfit is amazing! And you got here just in time!" I felt my face heat up and I gave her a small smile. "Thank you..." "This is Lindsey, by the way. The friend that wanted me to do the double date." Madelyne voiced and her friend smiled in response. "What movie are we watching?" I questioned. "I can only tell you the genre so you will find out the name later." She said and Madelyne laughed as she rolled her eyes. "Dáiríre Lindsey?" "Is it Mr. and Mrs. Smith?" I questioned and Lindsey gaped at me.

"How did you know? Herregud you are so jävla fantastiskt." She said to me hitherto whispering something to Madelyne. Lindsey then grabbed a man, who I could've only assumed to be her boyfriend, by the arm an dragged him towards the entrance. "Come on you two, let's get our snacks and the best seats! The movie starts in forty minutes ." She yelled back towards us. "Guess we should follow along with them then." Madelyne said to me, smiling and I nodded as I held her hand, following behind Lindsey and her boyfriend to the snack bar. "I'll pay for the snacks if you want.." I voiced but Madelyne shook her head. "Níl, Lindsey and I already agreed to pay for the snacks." She responded and I felt my face heat up before I looked down. "Hello, what could I get for you two?" An employee asked us. "Uhm.. I would like a large bucket of popcorn with butter please." I said and the employee put the popcorn and butter in a pattern before putting it into a bucket then handed it to me.

"Here you go ma'am." "Thank you." I smiled before we walked away to grab our drinks and candy when I suddenly heard one of the employees call Madelyne cute. I turned around to glare at them , startling them. "Do not call her cute." "Jade, come on, I found us somewhere to sit." I heard Madelyne's voice and I turned around, smiling. "Coming!" I skipped over to her and we walked to our area. "Lindsey and Jake chose to sit a bit behind us at the top." She told me and I nodded as the two of us walked down the stairs to the lower middle part of the front row and sat down. "Woah, the screen is huge.." I whispered to her and I saw the smile on her face. "It looks even bigger because we're slightly closer to it." She whispered back. A bit into the movie I had noticed Madelyne look behind us before letting out a sigh and shaking her head before turning her attention back to the movie. "What is it?" I asked and she motioned behind us and I peeked to see Lindsey and her boyfriend making out.

"Aww, that's so cute." "Seá.. I guess in her own certain way and how other people see it." I heard Madelyne whisper to herself. "Do you not like kissing on the first date?" I questioned and she shook her head. "It's not that. I don't mind if other people do that, it's just..." "What? Have you.. never kissed someone before?" I chuckled and saw her blush. "W-well uh," "It's okay if you haven't." I giggled and she looked back at the movie screen, me doing the same. Some time later into the movie, I leaned close to her and whispered into her ear. "After this, let's go somewhere else." Madelyne looked over at me once again. "Where would we go?" She queried but before I could respond, someone shushed us and I rolled my eyes. "I'll tell you after the movie is over." I whispered, slightly annoyed that I got interrupted but she just nodded.

After the movie was over, Madelyne and I walked to the front of the theater to wait for her friend. "Hey, so a friend of mine is hosting a little party at his house and I know that sounds weird but his backyard is huge and I was wondering if maybe you'd like to come with me." I suggested as I looked at her facial expressions. "Sure, sounds like fun." She said and I clapped my hands in excitement. "Yay! We should go now, he said the party starts at eleven." "Ceart go leor." "Did you get a ride or..?" I queried, titling my head. "I drove here." She responded, holding up her car keys and I chuckled. "Okay. May I ride with you?" I asked and Madelyne nodded. "Of course."
