Chapter 7: Different Ideals

Lucas was near the entry door of pizzeria getting ready for his departure to the northern district when suddenly Vanetti came out from the pizzeria in a black tuxedo.

"I'll accompany you," Vanetti said in a deep voice trying to intimidate Lucas.

"Why the sudden interest big boy?" Lucas questioned surprised by Vanetti's sudden interest in the mission.

Vanetti with a straight look on his face said "I plan to check on Venetia's situation. It's situated just above the northern district anyway."

Their conversation is interrupted by Angelo's voice from the balcony above, echoing through the courtyard. "Lucas, you can ride with him."

Lucas eyed the two suitcases Vanetti held, a hint of confusion creasing his brow. "Two suitcases for a two-day trip? Seems a bit excessive, doesn't it?"

A sardonic smile played across Vanetti's lips. "I'm a big boy, after all," he said in a funny voice, his tone laced with sarcasm.

Not getting a straightforward response, Lucas chose to let it go, opting to throw the luggage in the car's boot without further inquiry.

Vanetti, eyeing the sleek Rolls-Royce, couldn't help but admire the vehicle's grandeur. "Goddamn, the car looks badass!" he exclaimed with a grin, a faint hint of excitement colouring his voice. "Wooo hoo hoo!"

Lucas, catching the moment, offered a subtle smile at Vanetti's enthusiasm. "Let's jump in," he said, a touch of light dancing in his eyes.

Lucas sat on the driving seat while Vanetti sat beside him with the radio on full volume playing Paganini's violone. The car descended downhill, its sleek form disappearing into the distance.

Meanwhile, back at their base, Angelo emerged, clad in a towel, evidence of a recent bath. His damp hair hinted at the fleeting relaxation he sought amidst their hectic operations. As he observed Lucas and Vanetti's departure.

"Driving off like a couple of teenagers," Angelo mused, shaking his head. "Quite the sight."

As he was about to leave, he caught a sight on the side of his eye, Cavour's wife, now a widow, shuffled through the street, a bag of vegetables in her hand. Angelo, observing Cavour's wife from a distance, wore a devilish smile that danced across his face.

"Quite an elegant lady, what a sad fate for her" Angelo said, with a devilish smile dancing on his face.

Corteo approached Angelo, a serious expression etched on his face. "Angelo, we don't speak ill of women, and we shouldn't involve them in any conflict."

Angelo shrugged nonchalantly. "But what if they're involved anyway?"

Corteo, feeling frustrated by Angelo's indifference, grabbed his damp hair firmly, "We protect them, Angelo. They shouldn't bear the weight of our conflicts."

"Heh? not my area of expertise dear" Angelo said, his signature devilish smile again on his face.

"I will cut your willy off next time you play with a women's life! killing Cavour was necessary but we don't need to torture her any further" Corteo threatened Angelo.

"I can't guarantee my intentions Corteo, my actions are not mine" Angelo said in visible sarcasm.

"Fuck you!" Corteo shouted knowing that he can't control Angelo.

Corteo went back to pizzeria.

"That Jackass can't get over his ex-wife after four whole years and acts strong! my ass" muttered Angelo while wearing his black trench coat.

Suddenly a stone came shattering one of the windows, a note affixed to it. 'I know you are the leaders of 'Crowned in Shadow'.

Angelo, taken aback by the revelation, swiftly bolted outside in pursuit of the culprit Racing through the streets, he caught sight of a figure in a black shirt, dashing away in haste. Determined to confront this intruder, Angelo pursued the fleeing figure, his pace relentless as he closed the gap between them.

"Son of a bitch! You can't run away!" shouted Angelo in desperation to stop the intruder.

A bicycle came speeding through the alleyway, The intruder unable to slow down crashed into it".

"Got you motherfucker!" Angelo shouted on the intruder's face.

With a firm grip, he escorted the person back to the pizzeria.

"Corteo, Bradley! I caught the dog who threw the stone!" Shouted Angelo while trying to take a deep breath.

"Guy? Take a close look Angelo! This isn't a dog she is a bitch!" Corteo and Bradley screamed in perfect sync".

Angelo surprised by the statement threw the person on floor. He took a good look on the face and realised that it was a woman.

"You trying to look brave or what bitch!?" Bradley shouted on her face.

"My name is Fiona! stop calling me a bitch and stop spitting on me you little piece of shit!" screamed the woman with sharpness in her voice.

Angelo engulfed in rage couldn't control himself and let his murderous intent spill out, "We are crushing her!"

"Maybe we should... you know... get some use out of her before killing her" Bradley suggested between the tense environment.

"No, we can't resort to that. It's not who we are." Corteo intervened firmly.

"Well....at least we can torture her to get information?" questioned Bradley.

"Very well! Let's put her in the storeroom" Angelo barked with rage, his face showed clear hints of disgust.

Frustration etched across Corteo's face, dissatisfied with the group's consideration of extreme measures. Without uttering a word, he turned away, striding toward the kitchen. The door shut firmly behind him.

His departure marked a symbolic stance against the path veering toward cruelty, as the muffled sounds from the kitchen indicated his desire for a reprieve from the escalating turmoil within the pizzeria. The closed door served as a barrier not only physically but also ideologically.

"Screw you Corteo!" Bradley shouted with his tongue out making fun of Corteo's Ideals.

Bradley grabbed the woman's neck and threw her in the storeroom.
