Prior to Chaos

Chapter 20: Prior to Chaos

[Hellion Arc]

🌸

In the realm of chaos, it was already night. The bright moon just ahead made everything seem eerily creepy and frightening. Like something will come out of nowhere and probably kill you without your knowledge.

"Kiari, ah. Is it really okay? This place is really creeping me out." Rinne said for the hundredth time as they climbed the tallest mountain within the Hollow Mountains.

Kiari sighed and stopped to appease the golden haired princess. He rubbed the top of her gold locks and smiled comfortingly. "Don't worry too much. We're almost there, and besides, I'm sure the others are also headed this way so, there isn't any point in worrying too much."

Rinne looked up at Kiari with shining eyes, appearing to be convinced. " Kiari is right. I guess I was just over thinking things."

Kiari just smiled warmly at her and grasped her hand so that they could continue to climb up the steep mountain.

Meanwhile, almost at the top of the mountain, two figures were seen to be having a break. One eating and one just standing in attention, guarding the beautiful maiden eating a snack.

"Ne, Haji, thank you for everything." Saya said as she munched in her chocolates.

Even in these dire situations, Haji was still there accompanying her. He was the one she fully trusts. Maybe even if he points a sword at her, she will still be calm because somewhere deep inside, she knows he won't ever hurt her, even if it kills him. Contract or otherwise.

Haji just sighed. "Saya, there's no need to thank me. I'm just doing what I need to do." he replied, his back facing her. But knowing him for a long time, she can tell the warm undertone behind his seemingly cold and indifferent voice.

Saya smiled and continued to eat her most favorite food in the company of her most favorite person.

A few minutes later, Haji tensed as he felt someone's presence getting closer.

Saya also seemed to feel it as she also grew tense.

"Saya!" both of them breathed a sigh of relief when they saw that it was just Seya.

Saya smiled widely at her twin and waved enthusiastically, calling her over. "Seya!"

Seya ran over towards them and hugged Saya. "Hey there li'l sis. Miss me?" Seya asked while playfully rubbing her twin sister's black hair.

Seya looked over at Haji's direction and just nodded at him, not an ounce of a smile in her face. Frankly, she didn't really like this Knight of her sister. She just has this feeling like he was gonna steal Saya away from her.

(a/n: I guess Seya also has this what we call, siscon (sister complex))

Saya laughed and looked at Seya. "Did you encounter something?"

Seya shook her head. "No. I didn't. It would seem this place is really their true lair. I'm also guessing the others are also on their way here."

Saya nodded. "It would seem so."

Just then, the shaking of the ground slightly shocked the three of them as in that instant, a familiar figure of a hooded woman appeared with her usual, signature smirk. And apparently, there was also a second figure with her. And apparently, may more on their backs.

The one that was beside Rose Reaper was a dark skinned man. A relatively handsome man. With horns on his head, creepy one eye that was red like the aftermath of bloodshed and sharp, shark like teeth. He was wearing what seemed to be tattered rags for clothing and if it weren't for his apparent features, he could be considered to be handsome.

"Rose Reaper!" Saya said with a frown while still holding her fighting stance.

Haji stood in front of her, with twin daggers in hand. While Seya also took her fighting stance and frowned, unsure who this person is. Besides, she just got here and just recently knew of their so called "enemy".

'This is bad, this is really bad.' Saya thought to herself. The others haven't arrived yet and they were already facing both Rose Reaper and the boss of the Usamatas.

She guessed that they'll have to deal with this themselves and hope that the others would arrive soon.

"Haji!" Saya signalled over to Haji and he immediately nodded over to her. She smiles and tightened her grip on both her swords, slowly gathering her power together and her ones Amber eyes glowed red in an instant and a red rose emblem was shown on her right cheek.

"Safira Rosa!" as those words got out of her mouth, a thick blanket of red rose petals immediately surrounded both Saya and Haji and changed how they appeared. Saya now had pinkish wings with few bandages wrapped in it, appearing to be floating. Instead of her usual armor, she was wearing a rare one. A light pink dress with a red belt and silver embroidered roses on the dress's skirt. Her arms where also wrapped by bandages, as well as her legs, instead of the usual arm guard and boots.

This armor seemed to look like an ordinary beautiful dress wrapped in bandages but it was one of the strongest armors there is in the Cosmos and only the ones directly in line to the throne can wear such armor.

Haji's outfit also changed but not the same material as Saya's dress armor. It had metal pieces, unlike Saya's armor. His usual black tailored suit and pants combo was changed into a light, silver armor with a blue shirt underneath. He was now wearing dark blue trousers and solid, strong, boots made of Midnight titanium, one of the strongest minerals in the entire cosmos, found in the very depths of Xhorina, the realm of death and darkness.

Saya and Haji looked at each other in understanding. They had to at least stall Rose Reaper the Usamata's leader and their troops' attacks until reinforcements arrive.

Seya looked at both of them with complex emotions in her ruby red eyes as she readied herself in the upcoming battle.

Rose Reaper and the leader just looked at them with amusement in their eyes as they sneered in arrogance.

Well... They guessed that things were about to get really bloody. But hopefully, things will turn out to be good in the end.
