Daemon, still sword in hand, watches in horror as the Kraken unleashes its fury on Eleanor Harbour. He reigned chaos and the adventurers, despite his valiant efforts, seemed insignificant compared to the magnitude of the monster. The ships were crushed like paper and panicked screams filled the air.
Daemon knew he couldn't just sit idly by. Although she was aware of his current weakness, there was something within him, a spark of determination that refused to go out. She felt the pressure of the waves crashing against the docks and the deafening sound of the Kraken's roar, but she forced herself to focus.
"I must help...somehow," he muttered to himself, gripping the handle of his sword now with fire around it.
He had to attack now since his fire would consume the sword. Darius had told him that he was very careful when using this ability for quite some time. He also had another sword that he had left at the inn, that was the one that Priest had given him. He still didn't want to use it. Until he knows how to use his fire ability well enough, he didn't have that much strength now, so a normal sword wouldn't work.
Around him, the adventurers were coordinating in small groups, trying to find an effective strategy. Daemon approached one of these groups, led by a tall, muscular man in shining armor.
"We need to attack his weak spots! Aim for the tentacles and eyes!" the leader shouted, his voice echoing above the din.
Daemon ascended, determined to follow the advice. Meanwhile, his mind was filled with memories of his training and the lessons he had learned about combat tactics. Although he had never faced something so colossal, he understood the importance of staying calm and thinking clearly.
The Kraken, seemingly tireless, launched another tentacle towards a group of adventurers, who barely managed to avoid it. The monster, with eyes full of malice, seemed to enjoy the destruction it caused. Daemon realized that he must stop the creature before the entire port was reduced to rubble.
He couldn't waste any more time so when one of the tentacles destroyed another ship, he got on it and moved forward with all the speed he could. He wanted to reach one of his eyes as the adventurer had said.
Suddenly, a huge tentacle came towards him, fortunately he avoided it..., or so he thought until he felt as if a speeding truck had hit him.
The blow was so strong that it threw him almost 200 meters into the sea. Daemon fell into the water vomiting blood, he had almost fainted from the pain, he could barely stay afloat.
Shit, that hurt a lot, you're a fool Daemon said to himself, he was a weakling, how had it occurred to him that he could reach that creature's eyes if not even the adventurers could do anything to him.
His sword was already without fire, he had to devise a strategy, his stomach hurt and he was a little dizzy even from the blow, suddenly he saw how an adventurer cast a strange spell and vines emerged from the water, which tried to continue imprisoning him. The huge Kraken.
Lyana's point of view:
Lyana was running towards Darius' smithy, the city was in chaos, hundreds of people were running towards a safe haven, she knew she had to help the other warriors fight the Kraken but first she had to make sure Daemon was safe.
He had changed a lot in the last few months, she was proud of him, she had become very strong, she considered him like a little brother and she couldn't let anything bad happen to him.
As she was about to turn down a street to reach Diarius's blacksmith shop, she saw him heading towards the dock in the distance with a huge ax and armor.
Dario! Called as loudly as she could, the dwarf looked in her direction, Lyana feared the worst, as she approached Darius she didn't see Daemon anywhere.
Have you seen a Daemon? she asked urgently, unfortunately not girl, Darius looked at Lyana.
You know where he went when he left your blacksmith shop, he already passed by the inn and he's not there either, he must be at the port, Darius said seriously.
Lyana made Darius run to follow her, if something happened to Daemon she wouldn't forgive him.
When they reached the port her eyes widened, the creature was huge, bigger than any creature Lyana had ever seen, she saw Diana using her magic on some injured people and many adventurers trying to confront the beast.
"Lyana, go find the demon," Darius said, I will go help the others in the battle.
"Understood," she replied, she had to look for Daemon.
Daemon's point of view:
Daemon watched cautiously from the shore as the vines attempting to contain the Kraken failed miserably, only slowing it slightly before the monster ripped them apart with sheer force.
Although his mind was still clouded by the pain of the last blow this bastard dealt him, he desperately clung to the need for a plan. He could not afford to stand by while others fought; He had to find a way to confront the sea monster that threatened to destroy everything in its path.
He remembered the intensity of his fire magic, a powerful tool that, although limited in many ways, represented his best option against the beast. He needed to raise his magical temperature, but how to achieve this was a puzzle. A fleeting memory of a white dragon, glimpsed in dreams, arose in his mind. Could it be real? Could she communicate with him, like those protagonists in anime stories who had creatures that gave them power to fight? Although it sounds too closed, he said to himself.
Before he could delve further into that idea, Lyana's clear voice cut through the fog, pulling him out of his thoughts.
"Devil!" Her teacher was approaching quickly, a mixed expression of relief and concern on her face.
"Master," Daemon answered solemnly and a little surprised, he knew that Lyana would arrive sooner or later to help, but he was quite far from the battle, his vision is very good, he said in his mind.
Lyana stopped next to him, her gaze fixed on the creature thrashing in the turbulent waters. "Daemon, what are you doing here? This is too dangerous. That beast is too powerful. You could have died if you hadn't returned to the city."
Daemon shifted his gaze from the Kraken to Lyana. "When I saw that monster, everything in me screamed to run away as far as possible, I even froze for a moment. But then I saw all those adventurers desperately fighting to save the others, they even know that they are no threat to the kraken and "I can't afford to be a coward and just run away while others risk their lives."
Lyana nodded, understanding the determination in her disciple's eyes, she knew it was risky for Daemon to enter battle but she couldn't force him to return. "I've never seen such resolve in your eyes before, Daemon, and I'm glad you think this way. But how do you plan to help?"
Daemon took a deep breath and formulated his plan as he spoke. "I want to try raising the temperature of my fire magic. I think if I can do that, maybe I can make a significant difference against that thing."
Lyana considered his words for a moment before responding. "Okay. I'll go help the other adventurers. If you can pull off this trick of yours, you can make an invaluable contribution. But remember, Daemon, be careful."
Daemon nodded solemnly. It was time to act, there was no time left. In a few minutes the kraken would reach Eleanor's city. However, before launching into his desperate attempt to heat up his fire magic, an idea formed in his mind.
"I must try to communicate with that creature," he muttered to himself, with a mixture of disbelief and hope. "Even if it's just a dream, what if that white dragon is real? What if it can help me in some way?"
With renewed purpose, Daemon mentally prepared himself. He knew that time was short and that every second counted. As he delved into the depths of his magic and the possibility of a connection beyond his understanding, a sense of determination washed over him. He was determined to confront the Kraken, not only for his own survival, but for the sake of all those who were in danger.
The battle was about to intensify, and Daemon was ready to defy the odds, inspired by the bravery of those fighting and guided by the hope that he might somehow find the key to defeating the sea beast and perhaps unravel it. all the secrets of that strange dream he had a long time ago.
