Journey to Freedom
Let me tell you, there was a time when I got bored of myself,
Lost in the abyss, I was a book on a dusty shelf.
Unrecognizable even to my own heart's core,
I feared the word 'relationship,' I craved something more.
The first half of that quarter, a storm of inner strife,
One of the toughest chapters, the battle for my life.
Then, by chance, I met a character, though distant, still so near,
An idol's distant gaze whispered secrets in my ear.
Drama overdose became my guiding star,
Within those stories, I traveled near and far.
In the world of books, I found my endless delight,
In the company of fiction, I discovered my own light.
Some may call it madness, a mental illness, they say,
But in my fantasy, I found freedom to stay.
Living among my characters, I forged a world so wide,
A realm where loneliness could never reside.
And now, with the newest member of this overdose parade,
Traveling, I've found the freedom, not to evade.
At the end of 24 years, in this world so vast,
I've discovered true freedom, a journey unsurpassed
