Chapter thirty-eight

"Minseok , you prolly won't even answer, but I need you right now." 

Why does he need me? What happened?

"Minmin, please come help. You saw the way we left. Just go straight and you'll find us."

Minseok looks up in confusion. What could've happened? 

"Ehm guys," dammit this is gonna come over really weird, I can't tell the truth, "I gotta pee." Wow, good lie, sir. They will definitely fall for that.

"Ok? Have fun." Nailed it.

Minseok leaves and starts looking for Jiwon and Silas. A moment later he sees them both. On the ground. He fastens his step and kneels down beside Jiwon, who looks happy to see him.

"What's happened?"

"Silas has a condition. And I know nothing about what to do with sick people. You do, though, right?"

"I mean, I know the basics," He puts his hand on Silas's forehead, "Silas? Where does it hurt?"

The boy doesn't answer. His hand is clenched to his heart. Not literally, of course. Just the flesh on top of it. Minseok looks at the boy for some time and stands up afterwards. 

"He doesn't have anything physical. He's just really sad. Silas? I'm sorry to ask this but has something happened to someone or something you care about recently?" Silas looks up at Minseok. There are twinkles in his eyes. But not the usual ones that accompany his happiness. "I'm sorry, Silas. I really am. Tell me if there's anything I can do."

"Can you stop being so hot?" Minseok blushes as he hears Jiwon's voice ring in his head. Jiwon smiles self-done at himself. Minseok clears his throat and looks away as he scratches his neck. "Lunch break starts soon," Jiwon says this time out loud, "Could you stay? You know, for if Silas feels unwell again," and continues, this time again in their minds, "And I still need to talk to you."

"S-sure." 

"Ehm," Silas hitches, "Weren't we going somewhere?" Silas asks Jiwon, plead obvious in his eyes.

"I don't think Minseok would mind coming along. Would you?" Minseok shakes his head a bit too eagerly making it hard for Jiwon to hold back his laugh, "Good." 

Silas looks unsure at Jiwon who just smiles back, "You don't have to tell him anything, don't worry." Silas nods in answer and lets Jiwon pull him up. As the boys get up and start walking again, Minseok follows them, not sure where they were heading to. 

After a couple of minutes of walking, Minseok would swear to god that the boys didn't know either where they were going and were just roaming around. 

A bell rang, signalling the lunch break.

Silas's eyes shot to Jiwon, "We can still look for him through the next activity. And the next few days. And if you get an attack in the mean times we will search for its source right away. You still remember what he looks like, right?" Jiwon assures him.

"How could I forget?"

"Great."

As they got back to the cafeteria and sat down Jiwon spoke up again, "I really gotta pee. Minseok, you just went to the toilet during the last activity, right?" You better play along.

"Yeah, would you want me to show you the toilet?"

"Yes, please. Si, I will be right back, don't do any stupid stuff. And if you do, call me, ok?"

"Sure thing."

The two get up and Minseok walks them towards the exit of the canteen. When they turned the corner Jiwon took Minseok's hand and made a run for the toilets. Once they got there he opened the last stall, pushed Minseok inside and locked the door.

"Oh," Minseok says with that smug smile of his.

"Had to get far enough so Silas wouldn't hear us. So, my question; Do you have any friends on our campus?"

"What?" Minseok was confused as to why Jiwon would ask that, "I do. You literally met Dorian, Lory and Chris."

"Not them," Jiwon answers while rolling his eyes, "Do you have other friends than them who study here?"

"Why? Would you get jealous?" He turned them both around so he was now pinning Jiwon down onto the wall, "I liked what happened last time you got jealous."

"I'm not jealous, Min. Just answer my question. Are you friends with any other students, yes or no?" eyes on Jiwon's lips Minseok hummed a no-response while slowly leaning into the boy. 

Jiwon bends down and gets out under Minseok's arms, opens the door and goes outside. "Keep it in your pants," he shrugs.

Minseok groans, "Oh, come onnn!" and rushes up to Jiwon and follows him back to the canteen.

When they get back they see the rest of their friends have arrived too. 

Jiwon takes his normal place next to Silas and Minseok next to him. 

While they were walking in Chris and Dorian were whispering something to Lorenzo but it seems like they were done. Lorenzo looked up, shocked, at Minseok with his mouth agape. Minseok looks questioningly back at the boy. 

"You look really good today, Minseok hyung," The boy speaks up from his place across from Minseok. Great, Minseok thought, all I needed was one more of my friends to tease me.

"Thanks, I slept well," Minseok answers, faking a smile.

The rest of the lunch break went pretty fast and before they knew the bell was heard, this time signalling the end of the break.

As everyone walked out and joined their groups again for their next activity, Jiwon and Silas left the other way.

"I talked to him, by the way," Jiwon says to Silas.

"And? What did he say?"

"He said the only students he was friends with were Dorian, Chris and Lory. Maybe he had that scent on his clothes because that boy was also in the cafe that day. Not with him necessarily."

"I don't know. Maybe." 

The boys search around until Jiwon's group has to do the rock climbing. Jiwon gets back and stays with Minseok at the side, just talking and making his mate feel comfortable and safe on the ground while the rest were climbing.

The week flew by quickly and before they knew it it was Sunday again. Tomorrow is yet again a real school day. Jiwon thinks while lying in bed after dinner. 

Silas had had a couple more of his attacks, each time getting worse. He said it was because his body only craved his mate's touch more and more. If the man hadn't bit him then, none of this would've happened. Their friends started to worry as to why Silas had these attacks. They shook it off saying it was nothing. 

That was the most they could say. They clearly couldn't say 'Oh, yes, because a vampire, who by the way is also Silas's mate, bit him and didn't come back yet. So now his body's going in heat until he can finally find him.'
