Chapter 25: High Hopes

There are only three days separating Lotusville High Students from school and winter break. With news of The Onlooker on posters, the students are unsure of how to react. Of course, they look forward to the days off, but there's an eerie feeling as a face to the kidnappings is visible. Crash walks pass a bulletin board in the school's foyer. There's a crude drawing of the madman stapled to the cork. He cringes while recalling the man's supernatural qualities.

"They don't understand." Crash shakes his head in a whisper. "He's more than human."

The teen sits down in his history class. Crash takes out a pencil and prepares for a test. He feels a tap on his shoulder.

"Are you ready?" Karma smiles.

"Not quite," he remarks with a nervous laugh. "I didn't sleep well last night."
