Golf and Stuff

Saturday had finally arrived, and I was feeling nervous. I started to sweat, so I took a bath and got dressed. I wore black Air Force shoes, black jeans, a white T-shirt, and a red hooded jacket, complemented by a black watch on my wrist. I texted Sam to let her know I was on my way and then headed downstairs. My mom was waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs.

"So, you're going on a date, huh?" she teased.

I quickly replied, "It's not a date; we're just hanging out."

"Sure, sure," she said, pausing for effect. "You can take the car. Just don't do anything stupid; I don't want grandchildren yet."

"Mom!" I exclaimed, and she giggled.

"Bye, honey," she said as I left.

I climbed into the car, a sleek 2019 black Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and sped out of the driveway. I arrived in front of the Larusso household and honked the horn. I heard Sam call out, "I'm coming!" Moments later, I saw her. She wore black tights under a white dress and a golden bracelet on her right wrist.

"Get in, beautiful," I said. She blushed and slid into the car.

"So, Golf and Stuff?" I asked.

"Golf and Stuff," she replied with a smile, and we drove off.

After a while, we arrived at the park. We got out of the car and walked to the entrance. "Two clubs, please," I said to the worker, who handed them to us. We headed inside.

A little later, I took my stance and declared, "Now see how a pro does it." I swung my golf club but completely missed the ball. Sam laughed and said, "That was completely off; you're hopeless!"

"I don't even like golf anyway. Let's go to the arcade!" I suggested.

"In a moment," she replied, swinging her club and getting a hole in one. She cheered, "That's how it's done!"

"That's not fair," I said, pouting.

"Losers stay losers," she teased.

We made our way to the arcade, where we played a ton of games and racked up hundreds of tickets. As we exchanged our tickets, I asked, "We have a lot of options. What do you want to get?"

"Hmm, I want this one; it's so cute!" she said, pointing to a giant octopus. The worker handed it to her, and I squeezed it.

"It's fluffy!" I exclaimed. We locked eyes for a moment, and it felt like the world had stopped just for us. She broke the silence, saying, "You ready? Let's go," and we left the exchange table.

We wandered around the arcade and found ourselves at the Basketball Hoop FEVER machine. We started the game, and she shot the first ball, saying, "Lonzo Ball with the fadeaway."

"So you're a Lakers fan?" I asked.

I shot my ball and shouted, "KOBE!" sinking it effortlessly. "Me too!" I added, and we began competing for the highest score. Despite my best efforts, she beat me by six points.

"Is there anything you aren't good at?" I asked.

"Let me think... no, I'm good at everything," she replied confidently. I chuckled, thinking, We've gotten so close in the past few months. I think she's the one. I smiled at her with affection.

"Let's go to the photo booth!" Sam suggested. We took loads of pictures, some smiling and others featuring goofy faces. We had an absolute blast.

Afterward, we strolled through a nearby park. We walked in comfortable silence until I broke it by saying, "If you were any other girl, I'd brag about how good I am at karate, but my charms have no effect on you."

She replied ironically, "So what would you do?"

I walked behind her, adjusting my grip around her waist as I said, "I'd teach her a stance in karate that she could use to protect herself."

"But you didn't know she could protect herself," she said playfully. In an instant, she swept my legs out from under me, dropping me to the ground.

She held me down and asked, "What do you think, Jack? Can I protect myself?"

"Yes, you can," I admitted, and she leaned down to kiss me. I was left with a goofy smile as she got off me and said, "It's time to leave; it's getting late."

But before she could finish, I cut her off with another kiss. It was long and sweet, and we broke apart only when we needed air. After catching our breath, I asked, "Samantha Larusso, will you be my girlfriend?"

"Yes, I will," she replied, and we embraced.

I drove her home, and before she went inside, we shared another kiss. Daniel and Amanda watched from a distance, cheering quietly. We broke apart, and I said, "Good night, princess."

"Good night, Killer," she replied, walking inside as I watched her go before driving off.

Inside the Larusso household, Sam saw her parents jumping up and down with excitement. "You guys are weird," she said, walking to her room. But her parents didn't take offense; they continued cheering without missing a beat.

Later that night, I lay on my bed, contemplating how my presence would affect the future
