Chapter 39: “Ying Ye-Kun, Are You Looking For A Girlfriend?”

Kushida Kikyo was a proactive person.

No sooner had she suggested helping Karuizawa to ask Ying Ye out…

Ying Ye Zhenshi, who was just about to go out for dinner, looked at the message he received from Kikyo Kushida.

After introducing themselves, they decided to meet up in person.

Ying Ye Zhenshi quickly thought of a certain girl.

She was a petite, hot girl in his class, who was familiar with almost all the girls.

But as far as he could remember, she was not very interested in boys other than Hirata.

'Why is she looking for me?'

With doubts in his head, he waited until their meeting time.

After dinner, based on what he would usually do, Ying Ye Zhenshi would rest for a bit and allow his food to digest, before he would go for a jog.

Today, however, before the jog, Ying Ye Zhenshi had planned to meet someone.

The place they had decided to meet up was somewhat similar to a small park.

"Sorry, I got a little lost while I was looking for the location."

Kei had come here running, and since her physical strength was not that good, as soon as she arrived, she placed her hands up against her knees and half bent down to catch her breath.

"It's okay, I arrived just now too."

'???'

He replied calmly, but his mind was full of question marks.

'Who is this? Has she been possessed by Kushida Kikyo? Why is she so easy to talk to today? Was she always like this in the class? Is this a scheme to trick me somehow?'

Ying Ye Zhenshi analysed the situation, calculating the probability that the girl in front of him would try to harm him in any way.

He had seen how unreasonable this particular girl was in class, especially towards boys other than Hirata.

"So… I'm Kei Karuizawa."

Hearing his response, Kei breathed a sigh of relief.

"I'm Ying Ye Zhenshi, hello."

Then, the two of them fell into an awkward silence.

Standing side by side, neither of them opened their mouths under the streetlight.

She looked at him, while he looked back at her.

'What's the matter? She was just talking so well…? Has she replaced Kushida inside the body again?'

Ying Ye Zhenshi looked confused.

"Well, why don't we walk a little together?"

Probably because she couldn't stand the atmosphere, Kei Karuizawa finally spoke up.

She rubbed his little hands while proposing this idea.

"OK."

Embarrassed, the two began their slow trot and walked around the small park.

The atmosphere around them was a bit like that of a young couple who had just begun dating and had decided to go on a date, but with neither of them striking up conversation first.

After walking for an unknown period of time, they came to a small, dark courtyard, beside the small pond in the quint, little park.

The scenery at this spot was good, but it was a bit dark.

It would probably have been quite beautiful during the daytime.

Now, he could only spot a few of the details from the lights given by the moonlight in the distance.

"Well, where are you from, Ying Ye?"

Karuizawa Kei finally initiated the conversation.

"Chiba."

"Chiba? Wait, is 'that' really you? The bull-headed warrior from Chiba Middle School."

When Ying Ye Zhenshi replied, Karuizawa Kei spoke excitedly.

She seemed to have recognised him somehow.

"Huh?"

Ying Ye Zhenshi displayed a strange look.

'Bullhead or something? I didn't expect this girl to be such a weirdo.'

"Isn't that you? Could it be that I remembered wrongly? Your name is Ying Ye Zhenshi, and you are from Chiba Middle School. That guy is famous in the area… the bull-headed warrior who went out in the middle of the night to deal with a bunch of gangsters. Then because he cleaned up many of the bad students in his school, he was recognised for his deeds but reported. I didn't expect you to appear in this school."

Karuizawa Megumi looked at Ying Ye Zhenshi with a serious gaze.

Then she spoke everything she could recall.

It seemed that besides the weird name drop at the start, the rest of the story sounded much better.
