Chapter 15 - Start of the entrance examination

"Well mister driver, I will thank you for escorting me up to here you can take these two back to the hotel, as far as I am aware only applicants, and academy personnel are allowed to enter." I said as I looked back at the driver and my two guards, and go out of the car.

"Alright." the driver said as he nodded his head.

"Good bye young master, and best of luck, I hope you do well on your test." Christian said as he propped up his arms to show his support.

"All the best young master." Alfred said as he looked at me.

"Thanks you two, I will be going in now." I said as I waived my hand and bid the two of them good bye.

"Are you an applicant?" one of the guards who stood at the gate of the academy asked.

Taking out my phone and showing my applicant certificate I said."Uhuh, the name is Julian forester, my application certificate is right here,do you need anything else?"

"No, that is okay, you may enter." the guard said as nodded, and let me through the gate.

"Thank you." I thanked the guards and entered the compound of the academy.

"Huuuuuu" I inhaled a huge lump of air and let it go as I closed my eyes and thought, 'this feels nice, to think I would come back to this hellhole after 5 and a half decades' slowly opening my eyes I looked at the large dome covered building, on my right, that was the library, filled with ancient and great texts from top to bottom, then I looked at the gigantic gymnast to my left and shivered, 'Ugh just remembering the days I spent getting trained by miss andra give me the chills, and to think I will have to go through it again,'

"Haaaaah" I breathed out as I finally looked forward and saw the main building of the academy, where most of our classes would take place, it was a fantastically futuristic building, but it also incorporated various classic and ancient elements, showing the changes that it has had throughout the ages.

"Are you an applicant as well?" a tiny voice came from behind pulling me back into reality.

I lowly started to speak as I turned around before coming to a complete halt, "Huh yeah,but may I ask who you …"

She had long beautiful silver hair, her height was slightly smaller than my own, her skin porcelain white, "Ah how rude of me, I am Elizabeth lion heart, I am applying for the mage course." she said as she leaned forward and introduced herself in an upbeat way.

'Come on Julian get a hold of yourself, this is not the time to reminisce about the past, all you have to do is make sure that the nightmare doesn't happen again… at any cost.'

For a moment there I had been completely dumbstruck seeing Elizabeth before I moved my hand forward and introduced myself, "Ahhh, I see, by the way, I'm Julian Forester, I am applying for the knights course."

"Oh so you are uncle Jacob's son right?" she said as her face showed quite a bit of shock on it.

"In the flesh." I said with a smiled.

Coking her head sideways she asked, "But why are you applying for the knight class? Uncle told me you were not interested in martial art's at all though."

With a slight nod I started to speak."Well the mind is a fickle creature you know, one day I want to be a scholar, the next I want to be a knight."

"I see, it seems uncle was speaking the truth when he said that you have a bit of an erratic personality." she said as she folded her hands and nodded.

"Is that what he told you about me?" I replied in shock.

'God damn it old man.'

"Well that and other things but mostly that." she said, leaving me dumbstruck on how much shit my father had talked about me to others.

Shaking my head from side to side I replied, "I see well whatever, we should head in now, and it is safe to presume that you are here to observe the environment where we will give our test right."

"It is, I mean it is natural to know where you will be giving your test right?" she nodded and said.

"Yeah it totally is, now shall we head inside." I replied with a tiny laugh.

"Let us." she said, after which we both started to walk towards the main building of the academy.

"Ah by the way is his highness Gerard going to arrive later?" I asked her right before we reached the gate to the building.

"Actually he arrived before me, so he should be inside already." she replied as she continued walking.

"I see." I said as I opened the gate to let her pass through first.

In a large hall that was filled with children age, 11-12 absolute pandemonium had been happening.

"Excuse me miss would you mind telling me why we are not being permitted to see the examination hall, and other areas where the test's will be held?" said a black haired boy to the lady who sat at the reception

The lady wived her head in denial as she said, "I apologize, but the principal has asked me to not let anyone through, unless they have a teacher to show them where they are going."

"Huh what is going on here?" Elizabeth asked as soon as we entered the large hall.

"I believe they are not letting students view the examination hall." I said as I looked at the guards that blocked the hallway to the classrooms.

"SILENCE" a loud voice came from the center of the room.

'Well there she is, I was wondering why she hadn't showed up until right now.' I thought to myself as I looked at the red haired woman, who was wearing a military uniform, with her arms behind her back giving off a strong impression.

one of the children in the crowd said as he looked at the woman, "It's the crimson witch"

Another replied in succession, "Holy shit it is really andra Emyris"

"WHAT PART OF SILENCE DID YOU GUYS NOT UNDERSTAND?" her voice filled with mana reverberated loudly silencing all the children in the hall.

"…"

"GOOD, NOW WAIT HERE FOR 10 MORE MINUTES, AFTER WHICH MOST STUDENTS SHOULD ARRIVE HERE, THEN WE WILL GO TO THE AUDITORIUM WHERE I, ALONG WITH THE PRINCIPAL AND SOME OTHER TEACHERS WILL EXPLAIN TO YOU HOW THE TESTS WILL BE HELD. IS THAT UNDERSTOOD." she said as she started to turn around when someone spoke.

A boy in the front of the crowd said, "But can't we at least see the testing sites?"

With annoyance visible on her face andra spoke, "You want to see the testing sites? The answer is no, and if you can not understand the instructions, then we have no use for you here at the academy, so do you still want to look at the testing sites?"

"No ma'am" the boy responded.

"Good" with a nod she turned around and started to talk to the receptionist.

"They want to test how fast we can adapt to different situations." I said as I observed the situation.

'In my last life the test were super annoying for this reason alone.'

Elizabeth nodded and replied to my statement, "Yeah it was obvious when you think about it for a moment, I mean in the end this is a military academy, so it makes sense if they provide us with different situations to see how well we perform."

"I guess not the entire batch is idiotic." a golden haired boy, about my age said as he walked up to us.

"Brother, you do know that the way you speak is quite rude." Elizabeth said as she looked at him.

"Prince Gerard it is nice to finally make your acquaintance." I said as I offered a handshake.

"You are Julian Forester I believe." he said as he shook my hand.

"In the flesh" I said with a slight smile on my face,

"Nice to meet you as well, but you seem somewhat different than I had heard of from the prime minister." he said as he pointed right below my heart, which meant he was talking about my mana.

With a small laugh I said, "Yeah well the change is fairly recent, so I guess father gave you somewhat out dated information."

"Hahaha I see I see, well I believe we should talk about this later, we are attracting a bit too many looks for my fancy." he said as he looked around the room with almost everyone looking at us.

'I guess these two really do attract a lot of attention huh I thought to myself.'

After about 10 minutes had passed andra spoke with mana once more infused in her voice, catching the attention of all the children gathered in the hall, "NOW I WANT YOU TO FORM LINES HERE. TO MY RIGHT, THE STUDENTS WHO WILL BE TAKING THE MAGE COURSE."

"YES MA'AM" the students taking the mage course replied in unison for the most part.

"See you later then." Elizabeth said as she waived her hand and walked with the rest of the group.

"Yeah let's meet after the test." I said as I waived my hand as well.

"TO MY LEFT THE STUDENTS TAKING THE KNIGHT COURSE." she said as she pointed to our right (her left.)

"YES MA'AM" the knight course students replied, which included me and prince Gerard. We then moved to where we were asked to go, and stood there forming a straight line.

"AND IN FRONT OF ME I WANT THE REGULAR COURSE STUDENTS." she said as she pointed both her hands forward.

"YES MA'AM" the rest of the students replied as they gathered in front of her.

"Now I want everyone to keep the line as you follow me to the auditorium, as I have said before the rules for the tests will be explained properly there." she said as she turned around and started to walk.
