Chapter 11: Terror’s End

As the giant orc continues to approach Ace who is laying defenseless on the ground injured while Ryu continues to yell at Ace to get moving, Ace stays in deep thought "Physical attacks won't have any effect, my magical attacks won't have much of an effect either. What options do I have at my disposal? Damn it! Think, there must be something?!".

As he continued to think of ways to survive, suddenly a memory from his time training with Chris pops back to his mind. "Listen well Ace, a spellblade's strength depends on mostly two things. One, his skills with his sword and that includes techniques, speed, flexibility and strength. Then the other is his magic, how he uses it to enhance and support his combat art. Those two factors are what makes the most of our abilities as spellblades, that's why the real term for our type is magic warrior so when fighting always think of how you can get the most out of those characteristics.".

"HEEEEY! Ace dodge or you will die." Yells Ryu as the beast attacks Ace who is on the ground. BAAM! As the only sound heard is that of the club hitting the ground. Amidst the smokescreen there is a sound of grinding in the air. When the dust clears, it is Ace standing and who managed to block the attack.

"If I only have to defeat you then I simply have to strike you with enough power to make a dent in that thick skin of yours, RIIIIIGHT?!" said Ace releasing a large amount of mana while pushing the giant orc back while also throwing it off balance.

"Concentrate, breath, refine your mana and feel it running through your body, visualize it, give it shape, release more and more and more and much much more." Thought Ace breathing heavily and deeply while circulating and concentrating his mana while holding Ryuugetsu with both hands as the blade and handle extend covered in his magic aura.

"This kid, it's not the first time that he evolves in the middle of battle but still to think he would attain a higher mana manipulation level this fast he's quite something. All right fine master, give me everything you've got I promise you that as you are now you will be able to cut him down." Thought Ryuugetsu as he assimilates all the magical energy released by Ace.

Simultaneously screaming "LEEEET'S GOOOOO!!!" as the mana released reaches its peak, Ace adopts a drawing stance putting back the sword in its sheath. At the same time the giant orc who was back up he ran towards him at full strength ready to strike with a big swing screaming "GRAAAAAHH!!".

At that point, Ace closed his eyes, took in a deep breath, reopened his eyes and with a slight change in footing he unsheathed his sword at a high speed and slashed the giant orc with beastly eyes cutting through the club and cutting its body in two releasing a new power and technique "Overdrive: Battoujutsu, Izanagi Raikiri." And so the climatic heated battle came to an end.
