Annoying Senior

There is this girl in the grade above mine, her name was Tulisa Adams. Despite her girlish name, she was what others would call, a tomboy.

Pale blue eyes shaded with her naturally long eyelashes and long chestnut hair looked surreal to her boyish demeanour.

Due to all of those, she is still considered to be popular among the guys mostly due to her looks and body.

Although she is popular, she had never dated anyone since many were turned off by her personality that is so oblivious that would drive people mad.

She would often be seen playing in different type of sports as she is super athletic but since she's not in any club and she refused to join any as well, she was often called in as a helper. Especially in basketball, which happens to be what I am playing right now.

"Nathan, look out!" someone shouted as a ball grazed past my face and bounced off the wall.

I stood frozen as I was sure that I was just a few millimetres away from getting knocked out.

"Aw man, if you could've gotten that, that'll be another assist from me," Tulisa said as she walked over to me.

"Are you crazy? That could have knocked me out cold!" I shouted.

"I didn't even throw it that hard," she pouted as she walks away.

My teammates were giving me the 'hang in there' face as I made my way to the bench.

She was still shooting her laser passes around and roughing anyone that stood in her way that sent them sprawling onto the ground. Looking at the situation, I doubt she will stop until she gets fouled out of the game.

I still don't get why the basketball club asked her to help often though. True she is athletic and she really can put the ball into the basket but her rough playing style made her feared even among the boys. Her selfishness too was taken as a reminder of how important teamwork is within a team.

'Oh I get it, she's an example of what not to do in basketball'

Although from what I had heard, she did not act like this in other sports.

My train of thoughts crashed when a ball flew straight into my face and knocked me off the bench.

'Damn that woman' I thought to myself as I pressed the ice pack onto the slightly swollen area. She said that she had misplaced her pass but no one would have misplaced it 'that' badly.

"She really got you good," a familiar voice said from behind me.

Turning around, I was met with the smiling face of one of the person I looked up to, Jake Norman.

"Ah, Jake! You're here," my voice was filled with excitement as I walked up to him.

Jake was a senior, the same grade as Tulisa. Unlike her, Jake is someone I rated highly. He went to the same middle school as mine and we played together briefly as a representative of our school. Back then, he was our ace which was the reason why I looked up to him but for some reason that he did not tell anyone, he quitted basketball when he entered high school. I was devastated when I found out but since it was his decision, I had to respect it.

"What's up, or that's what I wanted to say but you're not looking good huh?" he said.

"It's like this when we play with her. She's rough, her passes are so insane and on top of that she has zero sportsmanship," I complained.

We chatted for a bit more after that until he got a call from someone and with that he ran towards the school.

Turning my attention back to the basketball court, it looks like that the game was over. I was heading to the locker room to get changed when Tulisa suddenly popped in front of me.

"Yo, wanna hang out after this?" she asked.

"I have plans," I said as I came up with an excuse.

"Then cancel them,"

"Why must I do that?" I questioned.

"Fine if you don't want to, I'll just force Francis to come," she said as she began to walk away.

"Wait, Francis has a girlfriend who gets easily jealous. If she were to see you two together, she might get the wrong idea!" I shouted.

"Well, it'll double the thrill won't it?" she said as she gave me a thumbs up.

It's awkward but it's my first time. I hope you enjoy it.
