Lost soul!

Everyone's cry turned into whispers and angry glares as the younger brother in the family, James, entered the hall. He looked around, searching for his older brother, Rohit, the prodigy of the family. He finally looked at the corner of the room and he found Rohit was a reverie. As Rohit realized James's presence, he just turned his head away in disgust. James whispered to himself, I am so stupid. It is their mother's funeral and still the brothers are not talking to each other, whispered their aunt Sophie. While one wanted the mother's love while the other one wanted all her fortune, whispered a short lady with black long hair and high heels. As she turned, her eyes sparkled in the white light. Rohit stared straight at her for a second and snapped out of it. He shouted, if anyone has anything to say about my family and my mother, Dhiya Lakshmi, then say it out loud! Make sure everyone hears it, not just the people next to you! As he said this, he stormed out of the hall as his aunt's chuckle echoed.

As Rohit sat on his bed with his head in his hands, a shadow covered him. It was James with his head down in embarrassment. Rohit asked between his tears, is stealing it really necessary? Why did you think it was a good idea? WHY!? his eyes were red from crying, he stood up. As James turned to leave, Rohit kicked James in the leg and pulled out his left hand. There it was, it was the emerald necklace that his mother owned that passed for generations together. He pushed him out and asked him to leave the house immediately. James, with a fake pity face, left the room. As Rohit wiped his tears and left the room, his aunt pulled him aside. She was eying the necklace as she spoke. Isn't that the beautiful emerald necklace that your mom once owned and adored? You are both boys with no need for that necklace! Better hand it to me! Rohit, with a disgusted face, snatched his hand away and walked off.

Rohit went to the beach with the necklace and was staring at the widespread ocean in confusion. His family knew something he did not, about his mom, about the necklace, something he inherited. He was confused and blank. They would never tell him why the necklace was so valued to his aunt and James, and it was not about the money, as no one else cared about it. As the deep grey clouds covered over him and as he looked up, strands of silky soft hair flew towards his face, stroking it gently. When he turned, he noticed a beautiful girl standing next to him, worried, on the phone with someone saved as "confidential" with a red heart emoji next to it. Rohit wanted to push her hair away but, as he moved his hand, she ended up walking away. Slowly she turned in the end and smiled as she left, a formal smile, nothing special, but he found himself smiling and waving back.
