Fruits of Their Labour

Philip casually strolled around the mountain village as though he was sightseeing. he would occasionally stop here and there, examining the mountain faces or even the trees in and herbs here and there. It was all quite random and seemed impromptu. However, towards the end a blue glowing third eye opened on the centre his forehead and he dashed away hundreds of meters per step leaving only after-images. "Eh?!" Chief Saito was left standing alone in a daze as the little boy was already gone to the horizon before he could even exclaim properly. "Such speed!" he could not help but gasp. It was almost akin to teleportation the way he had dashed away. The movement technique was also mysterious and with myriad transformations. It looked like he was still strolling but he was covering large tracts of ground each step. Barely a few moments had passed before Chief Saito saw Philip strolling back with a long trail of after-images behind him. He came to a stop before his father and handed over the bone slip he had been carrying around. "Take care of these matters for me, I'll be in seclusion." he said before vanishing in a single step. Chief Saito's hands couldn't help but tremble as he held on to the bone slip he had just received. These unassuming little things were divine treasures, pure treasures. He immediately took off to the elder hall where the other elders were. Once everyone was gathered all the elders took turns placing the bone slip between their brows. They could not help but gasp once they saw the contents. " Formidable, too formidable! " Elder Charles gasped. This bone slip did not have a particular technique. Instead it had musing by Philip and with them the skills to achieve his objectives. It could be broadly divided to modifications to the World's End Mountain to turn it into a full fledged immortal mountain and the clan's base, modifications to the clans rules and punishments to account for them gaining immortal powers, and modifications to how clan members would go about learning techniques in future as well as keep records and defend the clan and so forth. Each came with the skills to achieve it, for example keeping records came with the skill to make scrolls and talismans, fortifying the clan came with the masonry skills and so on. This bone slip was a trove of lifestyle skills! The elders immediately began to discuss how to implement it as quickly as possible. Luckily the clan was not very large with only just over one hundred people, so some of the things could be implemented immediately. After a few hours of heated debate everything was separated into long term, medium term and immediate goals. Modifying the whole mountain was a long term goal, but the new clan rules was immediate. The elders quickly called a clan meeting and explained all the new clan rules to the clansmen. They then delegated teams of workers to the myriad tasks described in the bone slip. The teams were given a stone tablet copy of the related skills to apply in their duties. In this way most of of the reforms could be attended to immediately and save time. Thus the whole clan bustled with activity as some villagers worked on the cave systems, others stated to plant herbs at the foot of the mountain whilst others even went around inscribing formation runes on specific locations around the mountain village. Everyone had something to do and even the young children from the tournament were busy with tasks. The elders split up to gather the rare materials that were difficult for the weaker clansmen to collect. There were some that were guarded by ferocious beasts in the forest, in the cold tundra at the top of the mountain or the bottom of river flowing down the mountain which had carnivorous fish.

Time flew by and three days passed in this manner. All the elders were gathered in the village square surrounded by materials and shavings of precious gems . It had been completely renovated, widened and smoothed with intricate designs curved onto it. The elders were building a stone podium piece by piece, and they were very careful. Each piece was difficult to carve and required utmost concentration and stamina. They all linked intricately with each other one by one and in a few hours they had already linked two thousand small pieces into a small pillar. When the last piece was set in place, the whole podium whirred to life. The runes in the square glowed brightly as the pieces of the podium separated and floated into the air. they transformed and flipped and shuffled whilst criss-crossing in the air in a magnificent display like fireflies in the night. Shortly after, they gathered back together and landed back on the square, with the runes also dimming out. The podium was now no longer a pillar but a round smoothly polished stone sphere. The elders and the rest of the clansmen couldn't help but gasp in awe. Even the best stonemason couldn't possibly achieve such a smooth and perfectly round sphere. None of the pieces they built were even circular which made it even more shocking. To make a pillar into a sphere, a God really had profound methods. What they did not know was that Mithamo was actually a Formation God. When a cultivator achieved the peak and broke into the God realm they would be omniscient in their Dao. The Dragon God who was a fire dragon could cast all types of flames and there was no fire he did not understand. The Spectre God was at the peak of cultivating Yin and Death energy and there was no heterodox technique that could befuddle him. Similarly a Water God would understand all liquids, an Earth God would understand all earthen materials, a Sword God would be a master of all blades and so forth. Of course, due to the nigh unlimited lifespan of a God they were also proficient in other matters, they had nothing but time to learn them after all. In the end they would still remain most skilled in the core technique they cultivated and the type of Qi they commanded. A Formation God was a rather unique existence because they gained strength from the study of formations. They themselves were rather weak, but through the understanding of runes, seals, alchemy, traps and other such principles they could burst out with frightening power. This meant they were a God of support skills and such skills were child's play to them. "Take a rest and gather everyone in the square tomorrow." a voice radiated from the highest cave in the village. Everyone had worked hard the last few days to complete everything swiftly. Tomorrow they would see the fruits of their labour.
