We're Not Alone

I hear the door open on the the bus.

I open my eyes quickly and see her still sleeping.

I slowly sit up.

I felt my heart sink when I felt the bus move.

I hear her move around, opening her eyes.

"Kyle?"

I quickly covered her mouth.

'Someone's in here.... it's not... a child.... it's an adult...'

I hear something hit the ground along with a loud smash.

She got up fast and grabbed my arm tight shaking.

"Who is that Kyle?" she whispered so quietly.

"I don't know...." I answered hesitantly.

I hear footsteps come closer.

I tensed up and hugged her tighter.

"Kyle... I don't want to die...." she whimpered as tears started to form in her eyes.

"Jess... we won't die... I won't let that happen..."

She huged me tight burying her face in my chest.

The footsteps stopped.

We sat together for what seemed like forever but was actually only a few seconds, holding each other tight.

Then the footsteps started again, disappearing slowly until the door opened again and slammed closed.

We look at eachother.

We both went to the door and peeked out the window.

We see a tall muscular man walking away. I slowly open the door cracking it just enough to see outside.

I see a backpack on the ground.

"Kyle... please be careful..." she warned, still shook up.

I picked up the backpack and looked in it.

My eyes widen.

"Jess.... we need to go...."

"What why?"

I slipped back through the door and dumped the bag in front of her on the ground.

Her eyes widened in shock.

'Rope.....boots....gloves....handcuffs...a blindfold.'

"What's all this for?...."

I look at her then back at the items.

"I'm calling Craig..."

I reach in my pocket for my phone and call Craig.

Jess started picking up the items, examining each one with more concern.

I hear Craig pick up the phone.
