As soon as I got off the plane, I texted my mother to send our driver to pick up my stuffs and to bring my car. I’m not going home first. Giesel and I are up for a lunch Since it’s still 2:00 pm we decided to catch up. That lady is focusing too much on her business.

I was waiting for our driver when I got a call from Gie.

“What?” I said as I look around to for our family car.

“I’m fine Karl, thank you for asking!” She said and laughed on the other line.

“I was just going to ask where you’d wanna meet?” She said after laughing.

“It’s up to you Gie. Just send me the location” I said as I got up my seat.

“Okay. I’ll just text you the place. And please stop being so grumpy” She said then cut the line as I was about to complain.

Psh! That prick. I put my phone on my bag as I spot my car. As I was walking towards it someone grab my shoulder bag.

“WHAT THE?!” I was shocked. The people started shouting. I was about to run after him when the robber suddenly falls off the ground.

I did not waste any time and go after him. He was held by some dude. That robber can’t run away now. The man who was holding the robber in his shirt took my bag. And let the robber go. I walk towards him.

”Why did you let him go?” I said to the guy who is now watching the thief run away. Unbelievable!

The guy turned to me with a smile. I was shocked to see who is it, but I’m also annoyed. The thief must have gone to jail.

“Here’s your bag.” He said as his smile fades into thin line.

I glared at him and he just look at me with that innocent eye.

“Why did you let him go? You should’ve held him until I got the police” I said still can’t believe that the thief got away.

“Just let it go. Maybe he has reasons.” He said as if he can relate to that! Son of a!

“Reasons??!! Huh?! I can’t believe you!” I said frustratingly.

“Nice to meet you again here, Karl. I’ll let you know when will I visit your house. Send my regards to Aunt Belle.” He said and hopped on his car.

I was about to ask how did he know my mother but phone rang. It was Giesel.

“Girl! Where are you?! I’m hungry. This place is closer with the airport than my office yet I got here first.”

“Something happened” I said as I wait for my driver to fix my luggage.

“Ooohhh! What happened? Did you find a sugar daddy?” She said so excitedly.

“Hell no! I don’t need a sugar daddy. I’m on my way. Order something for me.” I said and end the call.

I got on my car and drove to our meeting place. The place was a 5 min drive from the airport but the traffic here in Manila tells me that it will take more than that.

I stopped my car when I got at the end of the traffic lane again. I’m still thinking about the happenings these past moments. How does this guy knows my mother’s name? is he a freak? And the fact that I’m still frustrated that he just let the thief go easily. What is he a God? Psh!

I don’t know that going back to my usual life will start like this. And this damn traffic adds more in my frustrations.

Luckily, I got there after ten. Gie is already devouring the lunch.

I walk towards her and knock on the table twice. To let her know that I’m here. She look at me from her seat and got up to give me a hug. She almost just sit there and wait me eat. She’s that hungry.

“I thought you’ll continue eating without greeting me.” I said as I sit in front of her. I almost rolled my eyes but instead I look at the food she ordered. They all look tasty so I started eating.

I was about to put a food in my mouth when Giesel suddenly talked.

“So what happened? Do you have some tea to spill? You look constipated when you got here. Come on! Tell me!” She said excitedly

“Let’s eat first or I’ll spill this food on you.” I said glaring at her. This girl!

“Oh! Spicy! Okay Ms. Grumpy!” She chuckled then continued eating.

I was about to answer her but I remembered I have food in my mouth. As we were eating, Giesel is telling me about her work and how frustrated she is with her boss. Though that boss is her father. She said that he made her do stuffs not related to her work.

“I thought I was his princess” she said.

After we ate the main dish we ordered for desserts. I was eating my non-fat vanilla ice cream when Giesel started asking qustons.

“So tell me… what happened a while ago?” She said. Now her focus is all on me.

“I almost got robbed” I said calmly. But my mind is still frustrated.

“That’s all? You said you almost got robbed. So how come you prevented this to happen?” She said curiously

“Someone helped me.” I said still eating.

“OH MY GOSH!! Who? Is he handsome? Are you finally getting yourself a guy? Can you please tell me what exactly happened?” She said now almost shaking the table.

So in order to calm her down I told her the whole story. From the time I met Halz in Hawaii up to what happened a while ago.

“So that’s what happened. Can you calm now?” I said and rest my back on the chair.

“So this Halz knows you. But you don’t know him. How did that happened?” She said still looking at me.

“Is this one of the memories she purposely forgets?” Gie whispered but I could not understand a thing.

“What? I can’t hear you” I said frowning my brows.

“Nothing. I think we should go. Dad has been texting me” She said trying to avoid my question. I want to ask her still but I know mom will be mad at me when I don’t get to eat dinner with them.

GIe and I parted ways in the parking lot. I got on my car and drive my way home.

I got off my car and let our driver park it on our garage. I can hear the voice of my parents and my siblings as I enter the dining area.

Mom saw me first so she got up to hug and kiss me. After that I kissed Dad and go to my assigned seat.

“How’s your trip Honey?” Mom ask me while serving food to Dad.

“It’s good Mom. The beach has always been a nice place to relax and let off things that bothers you” I said.

“That’s good then. How about you Keith? When will you get married?” She suddenly ask our brother.

Keith Amsel Hart. The middle child who likes to play in life.

“Yup Kuya (Kuya is what we call our older brother in Filipino.) When will you find a girl? You’re almost thirty yet you still don’t have any. “ I teased him.

“Psh! I know what to do don’t rush me okay. Mom… we talked about this already.” He said.

“Alright. But make sure to tell me if you’re going to propose to her okay?” She said like she knew a girl.

“What? You have a girl?!” I said in shocked. I can’t believe it. I thought he doesn’t like girls.

“Of course I have.” He said sarcastically.

I just rolled my eyes at him and continued eating.

“Oh by the way Karl. The driver told us what happened on the airport. Care to tell us more?” Ate Kim said. She’s our oldest (Ate is the term for older sister) Kimstal Adilayne Hart.

“It’s nothing Ate I almost got robbed but I handled it so there’s no problem now.” I said not wanting to talk about it more cause it still annoys me.

“I heard someone helped you?” Now even Dad is in this interrogation. Maybe they heard that some guy helped me.

“Yup” I said thinking if I should ask mom if they know about Halz.

“Mom do you know someone who’s name is Halz?” I hesitantly ask.

I looked at them and they all have a shocked face. Oh so they know him…
