Blood dripped down from the side of my head to the ground as I kneeled there, staring at Mika and the bones surrounding her. She definitely reminded me of Gwen. That glow to her eyes when she used her magic, a deep gold tinged with blue, painted a clear picture. I wasn’t sure how long I could deny the reality that my past lover was back. Either way, I grunted and tried to drag myself over to her, only to collapse to my side soon after.
Reginald darted over, morphing from wolf form back to humanoid. He said, “Percival, don’t strain yourself. I can carry Mika back, and we’ll make our way there slowly.” The remainder of Fang’s forces working with Elizabeth had been torn to shreds, at least, so it wasn’t something we needed to worry about. Unfortunately, I needed to let Reginald carry her back while I slinked along after them.
