SHE'S AWAKE

I walked into the room and I saw Tessa lying down there, looking pale, her pretty face was white and had lost all colour, the left side of her face still had some fingerprints and it was a bit swollen, my chest tightened at the sight and I swore to kill William with my bare hands. she was hooked to a dozen tube and wires and the machine made beeping noises around her pale quiet body, she was wearing a hospital gown, her hair was messy and her eyes were closed, her long lashes against her pale skin, her mouth was still sweet and inviting. I drew up the single chair in the cubicle and sat on it, then I held her free hand that wasn't with tubes and wires and I kissed it gently, it was cool and her nails were long and well trimmed it was smooth and had this deep black colour on them and the only word that came out of my mouth was " beautiful"
