Chapter 5

He then gets up, chuckling without any explanation before walking around me to leave. I hear his minions following him, as my tears slide from my cheeks to the floor. I have trouble breathing: I'm scared, I'm in pain, I'm ashamed. Once again he knocked me down, again he won. Worse, he made me the promise to come back soon to do I don't know what... This time, I'm sure he won't be satisfied with a simple "rent".

Time passes slowly, however I still have difficulty calming down. Exhausted, I lean against the wall with one hand to get up, when fingers grab me by the t-shirt before lifting me up. Turning my head towards this new aggressor, I realize that he is one of my father-in-law's men, when I thought they were all gone. Without my being able to make the slightest movement, he presses me against the wall, his vicious face blocking my field of vision.

My guts knot as I try to push him away.
