Divine Designing Pt2

Because my physical recovery was once again boosted, sleeping for a few hours through a proper time lapse felt as good as a full night's rest when I finally awoke.

The others were either finished with their own personal suits of armor or putting on the finished touches. A quick appraisal of Oleander's, Merch's, Lil's, Agnes, Go's, and Ivana's finished works revealed that all of them had crested the two hundred mark for sixth tier armor with surplus in overall rating. As well as at least half as much MDEF that I would personally constitute for a lower B grade in the seventh tier- which was still A for sixth tier.

However, I could tell that some of them minimized their alchemy used by MDEF that was below one-fifty. Their primitive resistances and inherited stats, though, were all on par with the original 'Night Slayer Suit'. Night Slayer's Something or other was honestly the name on every piece of not only my armor but their armor as well.

Each of the different Night Slayer suits came with the same set bonuses, something that did not come with the previous armors from either my experiment or the armorer's improvement. The Night Slayer's suit also had an Epic colored purple name similar to my Delai Family uniform under my armor.

For bonuses, wearing one piece of armor improved a person's stealth by five percent. Three pieces granted a bonus of plus ten percent physical and magical defenses, five combined pieces augments a person's physical and magical attack by ten percent of true damage, and seven full pieces grant's the full suit a set durability of eighteen thousand.

Eighteen thousand was an insane amount of durability, especially considering no single piece of anyone's armor exceeded two thousand in durability. Seven times two was fourteen, that's four thousand more overall durability than any suit's estimated worth. However, this was also because the halfling giant named Stonewall was only now adding the ancient backed gigantula and kobold augments to his pieces.

Poor stonewall was struggling about as much as anyone could be in his shoes. It was bad enough that one of my requirements for his character race and class- which he was adamant about- was to spend all of his early levels negating the race's eighty-percent movement speed starting point. Every other race or class started around or over one hundred percent except for the restricted giant halfling and the 'movement-pointless' Shield Guardian.

It took him a fair portion of the way to one hundred Agility to achieve this goal, so he stuck with it until one hundred Agility and was only now bringing his previous 'level-neutral' Strength and Endurance up to par before we left Sierra. Now, since the Strength and Endurance stats were the excelling points of the halfling giant and Shield Guardian, they were closing in on two hundred apiece since Sierra.

When his suit was finally complete, I was amazed at its three-thirty overall physical rating and appalled by its meager one hundred magical defense rating as a suit. This man originally only transmuted seams and augments, giving it the most minimal MDEF I had ever seen. I immediately made Oleander channel our magic through him and guide him through the process of individually enchanting the armor layers with reversed underlying enchantments.

The most salvage work we could perform was raising the MDEF to half of the PDEF at three-thirty and one-sixty-five. This was still a considerable achievement for him and us considering it was an impromptu scrap job. In fact, the emphasize this, I literally threw his armor away into Merch's inventory.

Then I made everybody rest and eat for an hour while discussing our armor and methods with Stonewall and working on our theoretical knowledge to improve our future projects while breaking down the affects of our works. The only thing we could not explain was how their personal suits had an added personal attribute that mine did not. Nor how they acquired apparently random attributes from projectile protection to movement speed increases as well as Go's miraculous plus-twenty-percent true damage to all attacks.

However, as if the combat this issue, my gauntlets were the only gauntlets to have both a PATK and MATK rating. Both of which were a balanced forty damage per punch. Add my overall buffs and current one-eighty-eight Strength to their forty physical damage and I could easily one-punch hobgoblins and upper level imps. Add their magical attack rating to my basic spells and they achieve something close to intermediate strength with the one basic increase.

Now, though, while the others began taking turns feeding Stonewall mana, I bought some cheap accessories from the blacksmith to study. 'Studying' was nothing more than integrating my mana into the accessories and their own magics to study the application of mana and affinities.

While it might seem simple to get the basic idea of the enchantments behind the accessory, there was an old-fashioned process involved. In order to officially learn the magics behind the accessory, you had to break the accessory. 'Breaking' the accessory, for Bygone Era VR, turned out to be overlaying your own mana over the accessory and replicating its flows, affinities, and other aspects at the same strength or greater.

Matching the strength of a foreign enchantment or even breaking its limits were sure fire ways to not only learn magical crafting but also to farm excess experience for players who focused on crafting. The first accessory took six hundred mana to study and break in the same sitting.

The first accessory had been a simple 'Power Ring' that raised Strength by ten points and cost fifty gold, an estimated five gold per point. I did everything in my power to reach double the original enchantment with my own magic to learn a stronger version. Strength Up, apparently, was the best that I could do.

On the other hand, the best that I could do was currently a Strength enchantment on simply mana stones and crystal that augments natural stats by fifteen points.

The next two hours into the evening were spent learning the rest of my accessories while drinking two sweet mana potions with every enchantment while Stonewall worked on his armor.

The planning stage took a lot longer than intended, but it was eventually decided that the inner lining would be a heavy gigantula silk linings of single-layer canvas woven with single-layer canvas strapping. Onward from there, the very idea of ancient backed chitin plates were reversed into a full heavy armor. Now it would be layers of silk, leathers, and then plate mail augmented with primitive parts.

The hypothetical rating for this armor will be what we are calling tenth tier at a theoretical five hundred PDEF bottleneck with the potential for half as much MDEF from everybody's combined mana and crafting capability. My mana, of course, was waiting to be introduced in the final phase of transmutations and enchantments.

To further improve the combat power of our tank, I intended to make him the guinea pig for my new enchantments. The game itself allowed three rings per hand on the main fingers, one bracelet per wrist, one necklace per neck, a single active earring, and some hat or crown accessories outside of the usual armor. All of these kinds of enchantments, though, required the use of naturally or synthetically formed mana stones and crystals.

Both of these rocks and types were technically crystals, but the 'mana stones' were mana purity below fifty percent while the 'mana crystals' were any purity above that point. Synthetic mana stones, though, were pure crystallized mana but the enchantments made with them were always one tier or grade below the stone's rating. Stones were also graded on low, mid, and high grades of poor, fair, good, great, and pristine ratings.

Pristine was everything above eighty-five percent purity but no synthetic stone could achieve a 'pristine' enchantment.

Because of this, I once again splurged in buying a set of just pristine natural crystals and multiple sets of synthetic pristine crystals from the NPC blacksmith's wares. Even though it was a small village, the smithy was very well stocked in surplus goods simply from the amount of time that it had been in business. Luckily for my wallet and I.

While I was busy in the wares menus, I also spent the better part of a thousand gold on miscellaneous materials.

Everybody once again took a break for half an hour before we finally got to work in finishing all the plates and segments for the different armor pieces. Now, using Oleander as a medium, I fed my mana into Stonewall and used it to simply take control of his willing mana. Hopefully, this would not only allow me to perform all of the necessary checks and procedures with both of our stacked buffs but also teach him all of the enchantments I use.

First came checking the seams and fitting and interactions between each of the four general layers of armor. Simply finding all of these initial alchemy points consumed all of Stonewall's mana and we were forced to start bringing in the others once again. Skooma's mana alone depleted during my actual uses of transmutation before we had to switch over to Go.

Go's mana was gone in about ten minutes while resetting all of the leather and canvas treatments and transmuting a final temper to all of the steel plates. Conansson had roughly the same amount of mana as Stonewall since he had focused on a physical character, so we emptied him right after Go before switching to Papi the paladin. Thankfully, Papi had enough juice to finalize the enchantments for the spider silk and inner leather layers before switching to Merch.

With Merch's minor magic affinities from being a merchant and general dedication to training, he had the second highest mana of our non-mage characters and supplies all of the mana required to finish the individual layer enchantments. Next Came Ivana who opted out of the heavy lifting by simply transferring all but ten percent of her mana pool into the shared pool created by Oleander.

Finally came both Lil and Agnes as the same time to simply expand the already immense shared mana pool while I put in the finishing affects on the entire suit. This including performing the monster core inheriting of not only kobold and gigantula cores but also armored tree dragon cores. Like the armorer in Sierra informed us, the armored tree dragon's core had a wonderful synergy with metal armor tat gave each piece a three-percent damage reduction stat.

Transmuting a single pristine natural mana crystal into the main armor plate of each armor piece, I enchant the first six pieces of armor to buff each stat while making the seventh piece, the military style trench coat, a second Strength enchantment. Each piece of armor raised their respective stats by twenty points. Then came the game changing notification.

Looking around the area, I could tell from the numerous system prompts and windows displayed before my companions that they had also received benefits similar to mine. Simply from the size of the latter prompts I could tell they were all my assistants and had also acquired the crafting limit breaker perk. As well, they probably each got at least one hundred reputation and two levels apiece from the experience.

If they actually got seventy-five percent of my Divine Designer status, then they probably got seventy-five reputation from their assistant titles. However, I could not help but wonder if their titles were also legendary or just epic because they were assistants. I, however, knew better than to bring it up.

However, these benefits were just the icing on our cake because they were benefits we directly shared. Stonewall, though, had gotten all of the best rewards from this. Not only did he get the assistant title and limit breaker perk, he also got a suit of legendary divine armor which was defaulted at 'mythic' grade above the 'natural' tiers. Because of the armor, though, he was given the option of committing to Melpomene for increased rewards and relationship. He blindly said yes.

He was immediately rewarded with a unique class called Tragedy's Ancient Mobile Fortress Guardian that was basically the doubled version of Shield Guardian with the a giant buff to all the same stats, a buff to current skills, two new 'basic class skills', and the new innate ability to cast a random blessing a few times a day similar to my own skill.

Stonewall, however, had to repeatedly yell the word 'please' again and again until he Melpomene would decide to ordain him with a blessing. On top of all of this, his natural PDEF and MDEF was raised by ten percent and he received several basic leveling and looting buffs that shared to party. He was basically being made into the shoddy Shield Guardian version of my classless self.
