As Seong-min glared at Cyrus like she has been doing since he told her about his plans with Lydia, "You're gonna go blind sis if you keep that up." Cyrus said while sighing.
"I hate you right now so you better shut-up." Seong-min replied.
Rolling his eyes, "Well I'm glad your crush days on me are over...Seriously! why do I always attract the crazy ones." Cyrus said.
"Exc-freaking-use me?! You're the crazy one! Ugh, you're truly are a man! And the worst kind too!" Seong-min replied.
Suddenly, An Indian looking woman with somewhat dark brown skin tone, approached the yard sale sign, she wore a 90s inspired casual outfit and had her hair suspended with a hairclip.
Putting on a big fake happy smile, "Hello there! How can I help you!" Seong-min said to the woman.
"Oh hey there! Are you two related to Moses?" The woman asked.
"We're his friends!" Seong-min replied.
"Oh I see!" Then the woman noticed Julian by the garage, "Oh! Isn't she adorable! I almost didn't believe the man when he said he's a father now!" The woman said.
Feeling something was off about the woman, as if it's not the first time he met her, "Miss, is it possible we've met before?" Cyrus asked.
"Maybe? Idk, you don't really look familiar to me, but then again, you obviously have dyed hair and a better sense of fashion than half the people I know." The woman replied.
"Still, I kinda feel a familiar vibe from you... you look pretty young too, maybe we met in highschool?" Cyrus suggested.
"Hmmm now that I think about it...we didn't really have that many Black kids in town back then...I mean besides That boy Nikolai I was the only other Indian person in school." The woman replied.
"You know Nikolai! We're his friends too!" Seong-min said enthusiastically.
Surprised, "You gotta be lying? How can it be possible that you're also friends with a guy and his ex-bully?" The woman asked.
Confused, "What do you mean?" Seong-min asked back.
"Well I believe Moses is a changed man now so that's why I'm on good terms with him, also I'm gonna be his co-worker at the salon...but I'm also on good terms with Jin since I owe him a lot for helping me.
Though I befriended Jin before Moses, since Jin came back to town way earlier than Moses did.
Also how on earth did you befriend Nikolai? Aside from the other Julian, Nikolai didn't have friends.
Though I did knew who's Nikolai, we talked once or twice in highschool.
But I'm happy for him, he's back with Jin...And since he's back in town, I wonder if I can get to see Nikolai, I kinda like his movies." The woman replied.
"Wait, You owe Jin?" Seong-min asked.
"I do! Around the time Nikolai came here to start filming, Jin Also moved back here in town! He helped me out on personal matter.
Though I haven't seen Jin around recently, I guess he's busy being a boyfriend since I Know he's dating Nikolai all over again.
Btw, I'm the one who dyed Jin's hair red again as a thank-you! Which reminds me, I need to hurry back to the salon because today I have to dye a lot of hair...long story short, dyeing hair is my least favorite thing to do." The woman explained sighing.
"What did Jin help you with ?" Seong-min asked.
But before she could get an answer, Moses who was back at the house, came out again while carrying a new box in his arms.
"Hey! Apparently I forgot a box! It's filled with old comic books! Maybe this one could be sold!" Moses said as he placed the box on the stand.
When he finally noticed the hairclip woman, "Oh! Hey Padma! How are you doing today! Did you leave work to buy something?" Moses greeted the woman.
"Hey there Moses! Your hair's looking good as ever! I just swung by cuz I heard from the old man who's hotdog cart is right outside to the hair salon that you were having a yard sale.
He showed me the keychains you sold him, and between you and me, you could've sold them at a much higher price." Padma replied.
Chuckling, "I know, I know it's just the old man is really good at bargaining, you should've seen how happy he was when he got the keychains." Moses said.
"You're very sweet! Anyways, I'm gonna go back to the salon, hopefully you'll join us as agreed tomorrow! Oh and Did you buy the stuff boss told you to? She kinda feels bad that she had to make you get those stuff on your own since we're short on money.
Since she started using money to renovate to the salon and make it look better, the rest of us has to suffer." Padma said.
"It's okay, I can understand though I haven't bought anything yet, this whole yard sale was to raise some money, I'm getting rid of my uncle's things that I don't really need... though I'm not surprised people aren't lining-up around here, these things aren't exactly the good stuff." Moses replied.
"Hmmm, Maybe I could help? I got few bucks to spare, just a few though! so Let's see what you're selling real quick!" Padma said before she began checking the things on sale.
Few seconds in and her eyes laid on an open box filed with old but unused journals and notebooks, "I'll take this one!" She picked-up a pinkish journal that had a logo of a flower arrangements company on it, "It's very cute!" She added.
"Sweet! Now I'm kinda jealous, I usually use my phone as a journal, but I would've totally bought that journal if nobody did by the end of the sale." Seong-min said.
"Sorry girl, it's mine now! Oh and piece of advice sweetheart, It's good to keep some stuff off technology, I usually always write the most important stuff offline, I don't really trust technology that much." Padma replied.
"You sound like a cop, more than a hairstylist." Cyrus said, "My papa used to be a police officer." Padma replied.
"He retired?" Cyrus asked, "He died, on duty, that's why me and my mom moved here when I was in highschool, looking for a cheaper life." Padma replied.
Feeling a bit embarrassed, "I'm sorry for your loss." Cyrus said, "Meh, It's been a long time, besides he died protecting innocent people, I'm proud of him actually." Padma replied.
"And I'm sure he's proud of you too Padma, anyways Are you sure you want that journal?" Moses asked with a smile.
Seong-min looked at him with wide eyes, "Umm, I'm not sure that's a normal response to what Padma said about her...dad?" She stated unsure, making Padma laugh.
"Haha! You've freaked another girl with that attitude, guess I'm the only one around here who doesn't mind your weird wiring, Moses." Padma said.
"I'm sorry, did I say something weird?" Moses asked genuinely confused.
"Maybe a little, nothing too serious though...Anyways, I do want that journal, is it okay if I can get a discount, cuz we're coworkers now?" Padma asked.
"Oh sure! Let's see, these notebooks were probably handed out to my uncle for free because he knew a lot of business owners, so I wasn't gonna sell them super expensive or anything, like maybe just 11.99 or something but for you, you can get it at 9.50!" Moses said.
"Oh sweet! Last time I bought a journal around here, it was like 20 dollars!
Hey since you're helping me out, can I get another one and pay the same price?" Padma asked.
"Sure, take your pick!" Moses replied.
Searching again through the box, Padma's hand grabbed something, this time it was a dark blue journal with the town's police department logo on it, "Cool, didn't know they made journals for the police here!" Seong-min said.
"I'll take it." Padma said with a soft smile.
"Sure thing...here!" Moses said putting the two journals in a plastic bag for her.
"Thanks! I'll spread the word around about your yard sale! Bye now! I'll be going back to work.
And Oh! Give little Julian a kiss for me!" Padma said taking the bag before she walked away.
"Bye!" Moses waved at her.
"Alright! We managed to sell two other things aside from those keychains!" Seong-min said enthusiastically.
"Gurl you didn't do anything! Moses is the one who sold them." Cyrus replied, "You're asking to be thrown out of the face of the earth today!" Seong-min replied back angrily.
Chuckling, "Thanks a bunch you two, if it wasn't for your help, I wouldn't be doing this right now." Moses said.
"You're welcome." Cyrus replied but then got a weird feeling as Moses started staring at him, "You good bro?" He asked.
"Oh! Yes...it's just, I'm a little curious about your hairstyle, you have a shaggy white hair, it's not something I see a lot of people asking for." Moses said.
"Yeah, I used to have only standard boy haircuts at the barbershop ever since my transition and all, but then I started to get bored with those cuts.
I wanted to feel cool like an anime character, so I started going to salons instead, they do these stuff better anyways.
To be honest, sometimes I wish my hair was actually white and not dyed, it would've been cool..." Cyrus replied.
"Well it's an unusual hairstyle, but it does suit you, you do look Handsome." Moses said.
Surprised, "Did you just flirt with Cyrus?" Seong-min asked.
"Girlie it was a compliment, chillax." Cyrus said, "Evelyn used to say, it's nice to tell people that you think they look good, it'll make their day better." Moses replied.
"Are you an Android Moses? Did you come from Detroit?" Seong-min asked.
"Sis You play video games? cuz that's a reference right there!" Cyrus asked surprised.
"I like to watch other people play, unless it's games about city building, simulations or games where I have full control over someone's life then yeah I like to play." Seong-min replied.
"Why do girls love games where they can play God?!" Cyrus asked horrified.
"I'm still confused, why do you think I'm an Android?" Moses asked.
"It's just like...it feels as if you've been programed, you're acting a bit robotic?...not going to lie you kinda remind me of my own father." Seong-min tried to explain.
"Oh I get that a lot recently, when I met my new boss at the salon few days ago, she also said I need to loosen-up and also said something about me acting like I got a chip in my head." Moses replied.
"To be honest I wasn't gonna point that out earlier, but Seong-min is right... you're a little bit acting like you've got some program inside of your head though I don't believe it's a bad thing.
I like this version of you." Cyrus said.
Smiling, "That's very comforting to hear, now excuse me I need to take Julian inside for her nap time.
I'll be right back with more snacks." Moses replied happily then went over to his daughter who was obviously getting sleepy.
Seong-min and Cyrus watched as Moses picked his daughter up and carried her like a princess inside the house, "I like this version of you, huh?" Seong-min said with a sly smirk.
Cyrus raised an eyebrow at her, "Are you okay sis?" He asked skeptically.
"Hmm, yeah... just my Gaydar is catching something." Seong-min replied nonchalantly.
Flustered, "Have you lost it?! You're out of your mind!" Cyrus said angrily.
"Poor Lydia, she doesn't deserve a man whose heart is set out for another man." Seong-min said jokingly.
"It was just compliment?! You think I'm that insane to catch feelings?! and from who?! Moses?!" Cyrus replied.
Chuckles, "Careful now! He might be listening, hehe." Seong-min said sheepishly.
It's nice to tell people that you think they look good, it'll make their day better.
