"How old are you?" Nikolai asked, "Oh! I completely forgot to mention my age... I'm 18 internationally but 19 in Korean age!" She replied with a wink.
"Korean age?" Nikolai replied while drinking his iced tea, "Yeah! you age one year every new year, regardless of your birthday, you add a year to your age every January 1ˢ!" Seong-min explained.
"Ah! I see." Nikolai said, "Nikollai-ssi You're gay right? I mean you're public about it as an actor." Seong-min spoke again, the two started asking questions for each other out of nowhere, as they continued sitting in the cafe.
A little embarrassed, "Seong-min! stop asking questions!" Jin scolded her again, "I'm not going to say anything bad! There's nothing wrong with being gay but There's a lot wrong with the world we live in, for making life harder for people for something they can't choose or change.
I just want to know, isn't it uncomfortable playing straight roles most of the time when you're A gay man?" Seong-min asked despite Jin's glares at her.
to their surprise, "Yes, it's pretty annoying especially since there isn't many LGBT supportive shows...but I still want to do acting, and I'm grateful I've been actually getting lots of major roles recently." Nikolai replied as if he was being interviewed, "if I want to play a leading role, I just have to accept the fact that the character I'm about to play is most likely a straight and super masculine man." he added rolling his eyes at the end.
"What about the new project? you mentioned before to the media that you're currently filming, but didn't disclose any information about what you're doing." Seong-min asked again.
"Sorry, Can't tell you, it's classified." Nikolai replied, shrugging her shoulders "Fine, I'll ask Jin after you take him to the set." Seong-min said smirking.
Annoyed, "I've completely forgotten that he's going to come with me there from now on." Nikolai whispered to himself.
"I feel bad for being the one asking most of the questions, so ask me some Nikollai-ssi!" Seong-min said, "Ok what your sexuality Seong-min?" Nikolai asked her casually.
"I don't know for sure, i think I'm straight until further notice." Seong-min replied sipping on her latte, "Until further notice...tehehe what kinda response is that?" Nikolai said chuckling for the first time with them.
Seeing his reaction and the smile that Seong-min managed to put on Nikolai's face, Jin felt his heart beating faster.
So he got up hastily, Jin was blushing and he wanted to hide away for a minute, "I gotta use the restroom real quick! You two, don't move from here." he said walking away quickly.
"What's going on with him? he didn't even drink anything." Nikolai said feeling a little bit disappointed that Jin went to the restroom.
The moment Jin was away, "Nikollai-ssi?" Seong-min said grabbing his attention, "Eh? what?" he turned his head to her.
"You two were in the same highschool right? Jin told me he knew you from highschool."
"Me and Jin?...yeah."
"Awesome, then can you tell me the names of the those 3 bullies that bullied you and my brother in highschool?" Seong-min asked with a smile.
Nikolai blinked twice in surprise, he was about to ask her what the hell she wants those names for, when he noticed that Seong-min wasn't smiling innocently anymore.
Her jet black eyes were completely empty of any good emotions, it was as if Nikolai was staring right at a black hole, or a doll's lifeless eyes.
"Seong-min? you're suddenly gazing at me like you're a serial killer picking their next victim?...what's going on with you?!" Nikolai asked a little nervous.
Her smile grew into a grin, "Nikollai-ssi, don't worry...you're not on my list, I know you two used to be an item in highschool but broke-up because those bullies tore you apart..."
"Eh? did Jin tell you all of this? he's sure a very good storyteller." Nikolai said sarcastically.
"Oppa told me the story without the bullies names...he talked about you too, how the two of you were so in love, and how you were the one who pushed him to become a better version of himself."
"That jerk!"
"Don't call him that! Jin isn't a jerk, if it wasn't for those bullies, I know he wouldn't hurt a fly!"
"I don't get why you're obsessed with those bullies Seong-min, it's not like You're planning anything kid... right?"
"Who knows...right now, I'm just glad to see Jin with his boyfriend aga-"
"Ex-boyfriend." Nikolai corrected her, "Nikollai-ssi! Do you really hate Jin Oppa?" Seong-min asked.
"Yes." Nikolai instantly replied, "You know seven years is a long time, people can change during that." Seong-min replied.
"Wow! he said the same thing today! you guys are really siblings!" Nikolai said with a fake interested tone.
"YAA!" She suddenly Shouted at him slamming her hands on the table, "Jin-i ajigdo neol salanghaneun geo alji?! (You know Jin still loves you, right?)" She added ignoring how people around them, turned Their heads to watch the two.
"First of all, calm down and second...Girl, I don't speak Korean." Nikolai said trying his best to remain calm as well.
"I said that Jin still loves you, as in 'in love with you'!" Seong-min spoke again but with a lowered voice.
Nikolai's eyes widened at her words, "Have you gone mad? why would he still love me? it's been 7 fucking years and besides, did he ever love me?" Nikolai said, "YA! Nikollai-ssi! How can you be so sure he never did? do you know what's inside his heart?!" Seong-min replied glaring.
"Has he ever told you why I hate him? or why we really broke-up?" Nikolai asked her.
"Nikollai-ssi, those bullies forced Jin to win your heart...I know all about the bet."
Nikolai paused for a minute, "But Jin ended-up getting his heart stolen by you...it's the bullies fault you two couldn't stay together! he still loves you till today, I'm sure of it!" Seong-min spoke again, visibly Angry.
"You, Seong-min!...You're not normal are you? you know all of this-!" Nikolai paused again as he saw Jin approaching them from the corner of his eye.
Noticing the heavy air around those two, "Is everything alright? you guys aren't fighting?" Jin asked.
Instantly shifting back into her usual self "Nope we're not fighting Oppa! Nikollai-ssi and I talked about some of his work! he got mad when I asked him to take me to the set." Seong-min lied with a big smile on her face.
...Some Time later...
"Why did your sister come here?" Nikolai asked as soon as they dropped Seong-min off.
"Oh? her? college, also she wants to be a Solo singer... she's staying with an acquaintance of ours, Ha-yoon." Jin replied.
"Ha-yoon, I think I have heard of this name before." Nikolai mumbled but Jin heard him, "Ha-yoon is a producer and songwriter, she thinks that Seong-min can become a star here, and she's willing to help her." Jin replied.
"Did they meet online? or through connections?"
"They met two years ago actually, the very first time Seong-min came here, and Ha-yoon back then made a promise with Seong-min that if she came back here, she'll turn her into a star."
"Well that's nice...She's energetic, Seong-min I mean." Nikolai said, "Seong-min is a troubled kid, she dealt with Alot of trouble that our paternal family created." Jin replied.
"Seems like the situation at home is bad for her, I guess I know why you wouldn't tell me back then about your family."
"Yeah, it got better now for her maybe...in the past, Seong-min had to stay in a mental hospital for a while, after she ended up abusing drugs and tranquilizers...it was around that time that we started talking more, online.
She's still fighting her Sedative Addiction now, but according to her mom, she's better than ever." Jin explained while driving.
"I'm surprised you're telling me this! I feel like these infos are a little personal." Nikolai pointed out, "I'm telling you, so you'd be careful around her...this isn't the last you'll see of Seong-min." Jin replied.
"Then I guess it's only fair, to tell you What She really asked for earlier, she never talked about going to the set."
"Seong-min asked for something else? I thought she wanted to go there...despite all weirdness, she's actually a big fan of yours."
"I can tell she's a fan, but I can't tell why she asked for the bullies names...She flat out lied in your face earlier that she wanted to go to the set." Nikolai confessed, he took a note of how Jin's grip on the steering wheel grew tighter, veins were popping from his hands.
"She keeps getting better at lying, I don't know how to stop her anymore." Jin said, "Well maybe we shouldn't worry too much?
I mean aside from lying, and hitting people with her bag... Seong-min seems harmless, she should be fine as long as you keep an eye on her." Nikolai said, oddly trying to comfort Jin.
"She's not that easy...Thanks to her, I'm walking around with this scar on my face." Jin replied causing Nikolai to blink twice.
"Huh?!...right! you said that you got the scar while protecting a client, it's weird that the client's actually your sister." Nikolai said.
Sighing, "Seong-min, she's definitely planning something stupid and dangerous again...thanks for telling me about what happened at the cafe." Jin spoke forcing a smile on his face.
Puzzled by his behavior, "You're welcome I guess?" Nikolai said.
...Some Time later...
"Seems like tomorrow's schedule is going to be a long one to go through." Jin spoke-up sympathetically, "Yeah, honestly...I don't want to go anywhere tomorrow." Nikolai replied.
"Then should I contact them at the set? tell them you're not coming tomorrow?" Jin asked, "What are you now? a secretary?" Nikolai scoffed at him.
"I'll take it as a yes, I'll go see if I can cancel everything you have tomorrow." Jin said calmly, he walked away to a different room to make a few phone calls, While Nikolai sat still in the kitchen with a slight Shocked expression on his face.
Andrea told him he'd get a bodyguard, but instead, he got another superhuman who's literally managing his life from top to bottom like Andrea usually does, plus he's none other than his ex.
"Andrea said he'd protect me, not Marry me off! Where did he find Jin? at a dating agency?" Nikolai said ruffling his own hair in frustration.
...Few Minutes later...
"Uh? you didn't touch your dinner? did you wait for me?" Jin asked smiling as he came back to the kitchen.
"Don't flatter yourself, I got raised in a household where you can't eat until everyone sits at the dinner table...especially guests." Nikolai said.
"So I'm a guest now." Jin chuckled, "That's the utmost respect you'll get in my house...besides you cooked the food, I shouldn't eat before you do." Nikolai replied.
Sitting down at the table, "Thanks! oh and btw, I managed to cancel everything tomorrow.
It seems like everyone is expecting you to be going crazy after what happened to Andrea...so they said you can even have the week off since they're not in a hurry yet." Jin explained.
"Jin..."
"Yeah?"
"Can you take me tomorrow to the beach?" Nikolai asked avoiding eye contact, Jin was a little surprised but he smiled at the request.
"Yeah! we'll go tomorrow... btw, do you want to go for a whole day or just a specific period of time?" Jin asked?
"I don't care, I just want to go there." Nikolai responded, "Alright, I'll prepare everything tonight! leave it to me." Jin replied, "Anything else?" Jin added asking.
"No." Nikolai replied while tasting the chicken noodle soup Jin made for him, "The food is tasty." he said making Jin smile at his comment.
