Diana walked towards a room where Cassis and marvelous dishes awaited her.
Cassis looked happy, with a big smile on his face, but as soon as he met the expressionless Diana he halted from speaking.
She took a seat in front of him.
"I still didn't the chance to apologize for my rudeness towards Cayn," he said nervously.
Diana didn't respond and already started digging in.
"I just-"
"Brother, you shouldn't worry about it anymore, I think you already learned your lesson," with a daring smile.
Cassis took a deep look at her as she continued to eat not minding him.
"It's hard to say who's the oldest when you act like this," he said pouting, "makes me miss the baby Diana." He let out a small scream feeling dejected before he started eating.
Diana chuckled at his act.
After a moment of silence, he suddenly put down his fork to look at her, "how is, everything going with him?"
She paused, coldly meeting her brother's eyes, "I am happy, to have met such a man."
"But sister, isn't he a little bit crazy in how he does things? I mean I know my mistake last time for speaking out of my place but wasn't that reaction a bit excess-"
"Cassis! I never thought you would bring me such shame!" She spoke angrily, slapping her fork on the table.
He was surprised by her reaction, "Sister what do you-"
"Take away your title as a prince who are you?!" Her eyes pierced Cassis, making it hard for him to breathe.
"I-I don-"
"Answer me!" The table collapsed at her strength.
"I am a 5th rank swordmaster!" He screamed bowing his head afraid of her gaze.
"I never thought my brother was such a bullshiter, you said you will fight him provoking him, yet think he was rough when he showed you his aura? Do you call yourself a warrior? A swordmaster?"
Diana stood up and walked towards her brother's seat, who sat there shaking. She put her hand on his shoulder, as she bent down her face to take a good look at his bowed head. "Tell me, what use is having a high rank if you don't take responsibility for your words?" Her eyes were raging as her murderous intent filled the room, "Spoiled brat, aren't you being a little bitch?"
Cassis raised his head to talk back, only to find Diana's terrifying eyes staring at him down, he hurriedly looked at the ground.
Diana walked away, stopping before opening the door, "I hope something like this, where you speak like my kingdom's words mean so little, never happens again." She turned her head slowly, her eyes bloody, "Otherwise I won't let you off with just a mere scare. You should be lucky, he decided to punish you in such a way."
"I, understand," he answered in a low voice.
He didn't dare raise his head until he heard the door shut behind her.
Only then could he lay on the back of his seat and breath a heavy sigh.
He already understood that Cayn merely warned him, and he understood his mistake. But still, he was thinking since Cayn was so strong he wouldn't pay attention to his words as a protective brother, or that Diana would understand his feelings. But then again, this is the real world, without the strength to back up those words he may have died at the hands of another if it weren't for Cayn being an ally. The weak are simply eaten and disposed of.
He had a lot to think about that day.
---
Diana went back to her room to change, dressing into comfortable clothes.
She made sure the knights and Ella knew that she would leave.
It took her an hour or so to reach the forest with her amazing speed.
She took a look around, meeting a few monsters on the outskirts, that she used as training having brought her swords with her.
She was feeling happy, holding her swords after what felt like an eternity. The sweat of the training seemed to have brought her back to life, clearing her mind.
She ventured deeper into the forest, wishing for stronger opponents, wishing to swing her swords more.
Her mind rushed with ecstasy as she fought more and more without rest, the feeling of her swords made her smile until a roar that shook the forest woke her up.
She rushed to the top of a mountain near to take a look, finding Shiro walking around at the feet of another mountain next to a cave.
He seemed to have noticed her presence and called for her with a roar.
She jumped down and rushed to his side.
Getting so close to him, his figure grew bigger and bigger, as if she stood in the presence of another mountain.
He bent his head, "Lady Diana."
She was calm, and smiled at him, "Address me as you address your lord."
"then, big sister-in-law?" he asked.
"Sister will do," she said as she patted his head. "Did you see Cayn?"
"Yes, it's his turn to hunt lunch," he answered.
"What do you-" before she could speak her mind, groundbreaking sounds shook the earth next to them.
A giant beast's body parts fell one by one, blood spilling everywhere.
Another big sound followed as a human figure crashed into the ground next to the body.
Diana's eyes widened, as she saw Cayn. He was wearing plain commoner clothes, soaked with blood, you could see his ripped chest from his open shirt. His sleeves were rolled up exposing the fine lines of muscles on his forearms, his veins drawn on his big hands. His deep black hair covered a bit of his face, falling on his golden eyes as if he showered in blood.
She walked towards him, both looked at each other calmly.
As she got closer, the height difference became noticeable.
"Shiro," she said maintaining eye contact with Cayn.
"Hmm?" he asked in confusion.
"Look away."
She took Cayn by the collar, bringing him closer. She looked at him intensely before she pressed her lips against his, running her fingers through his hair and grabbing it as they passionately kissed.
Shiro roared quietly in embarrassment, waking them up.
Diana laughed at his reaction cutely as she let go of Cayn's lips, taking a warm look at each other.
She felt Cayn wrapping his arms around her waist slowly, the way his fingers moved before grabbing her made her whole body shiver.
"Join us," he said.
She nodded and followed him.
He started roasting the meat he hunted.
They all enjoyed a quiet time eating, Diana didn't complain at all nor did she have thought of doing so, like everything seemed so natural and familiar to her even though it was her first time having such experience in the wild.
After the meal, Cayn stood up and walked a bit further than the two, then turned around to face them, rather he was facing Diana.
"Those swords, are you going to use them?" He coldly asked.
Diana smiled like a hungry beast as if this was the moment she was waiting for, unsheathing her swords and unleashing her shiny red aura, as she stared at Cayn.
