Chapter 47: Greater Expectations
“There is no way that anyone can get hurt, because Severin knows that we have our legal matters well covered,” Chris stated calmly. “I understand him now. He was hurt and he simply did not know how to deal with it.”
“So we can’t ask the private investigator for extra advice?” Lieschen asked.
“We cannot really back down at this point anymore, because Severin’s divorce is through and he has already bought the island,” Chris stated.
“Oh no!” Lieschen exclaimed. “I thought we would be able to stop him from going to that extreme. Now his dignity is on the line and he can become desperate again.”

Ruby saw Ferrel at hospital on the following day and she was overwhelmed with pity at seeing him so vulnerable.
“Don’t worry, we will get out of this strong and victorious,” she said with a strong sense of determination.
Ferrel kissed her hand in gratitude. “As long as we’re together we can beat anything,” he said.
