Broken Dolls

Standing in the embrace of trees, forgotten by time, is the house, shrouded in mystery and haunted by the ghosts of the past, including the gentle, soft spoken ghost of Charlotte Long, a nurse from the civil war, gently drifting in it's halls. Soon a new family inherits the house, including Gennae, a wheel chair bound teen age girl, who forms a friendship with the ghost. But along with the new inhabitants, secrets from the past return, from the graves of train robbers and Caleb Isogul, a man searching for lost treasure who will stop at nothing to find it.

A World Far Away

Gennae was a far better actress than anyone suspected. On the outside she was just an ordinary girl who was stuck in a wheel chair and she just got around and did the things she could do without walking.

From the time she realized that others could get around and she could not, she had slowly begun living within herself. Her mind filled with tall walls that blocked the outside world and her imagination became stronger till she could shut the world out and vanish into a place of her own making and just stay there for as long as she wanted.

In her early years Gennae realized it would make no difference if she felt sad about not being able to run and walk, climb stairs, go to amusement parks and all the other things other people could do, it would just bring others down.
