Chapter Twelve - Final

Dressed like a Kandian bride Shanuki looked even more attractive than ever, Sansali was huddled near Shanuki with joy.

Her brother's wedding was a day that Sansali was looking forward to. Pasan, who was Nisal's best man came to their room with the bride's bouquet to give it to Shanuki.

When he saw Sansali wearing a peacock blue glitter lehenga, he went near to Sansali and revealed his thoughts.

"Wow you are very shapely stunning today…:" Pasan said looking at Sansali with wide eyes.

Sansali looked down in embarrassment as she was always ashamed of such compliments.

Coming out of the room, Sansali walked towards the ballroom to reunited with her family, relations, and friends.

Sansali approached his brother Nisal and took a photo with him as a memento. Before Sansali could leave Nisal grabbed her hand and stopped to ask something.

"Did you see Shanuki.. Is she beautiful?.."

Sansali smiled at her brother's words. Sansali who was close to his ear and wisped to tease him.

"Be patient idiot… it's only a matter of time…"

Sansali left to join Lashani and Thanuja.

The marriage was registered amidst the blessings and happy laughter of all ending with the ritualistic rites with the bright moments.

Although everyone's eyes were on the bride and groom, Pasan's eyes were always on Sansali.

Lashani came out of the hall to take some photos and saw a call from Deeptha on her phone. Although some hope came to her mind, it was not when Lashani did not feel any hesitation.

As Lashani approached, Thanuja and grabbed his hand and came out from the ballroom. Thanuja was curious about Lashani's behavior. With that curiosity, he opened his voice.

"Why Lashi, why is this.."

Lashani handed over her mobile phone to Thanuja saying,

"Come here.. Deeptha has called…"

Thanuja picked up the phone in a panic and started calling Deeptha.

"Hello, Lashi…" Deeptha responded from the other side.

"Hello, Deeptha… I'm talking Thanuja…" Thanuja responded by opening his voice.

"Oh, dude Thanuja.. I'm in the vehicle park.. can you come out for a bit.." Deeptha said in a surprised voice.

"Oh give me a minute… I will come…"

Responding to Deeptha's words, Thanuja hung up the phone and turned to Lashani.

"Lashi… you go in.. stay with Sansali.. if she asks me where tell that I am in washroom.. show her no difference…."

Thanuja instructed Lashani and started walking towards the parking lot.

After Thanuja left, Lashani went to the ballroom and wished everything well.

Thanuja went near Deeptha and started calling him.

"Where are your mother and sisters Deeptha…"

Deeptha looked at Thanuja and opened her voice with a thin smile.

"They did not come to Thanuja.. because they could not leave grandmother alone.."

Thanuja stared at Deeptha until he had finished speaking. Then Thanuja opened his voice and began to speak with high hopes in his heart.

"Deeptha, I think you have come to a decision in your heart…"

As Thanuja's word faded, Deeptha began to speak in a painful tone.

"Thanuja… I loved Sansali.. but we have been apart for four years… Sansali is still trying to forget me.. so I think it's good that I do not come back to her life…"

With Deeptha's words, Thanuja's hopes were dashed. Thanuja began to speak with anguish.

"Okay, Deeptha I understand what you are saying.. If that is your decision then we will tell it to Nisal…"

Deeptha was shocked by what Thanuja said.

"But Thanuja… it's not right for me to go there now.. Sansali also must be there too…" Deeptha began to speak hiding his shock.

"No Deeptha, there's no such problem… talk to Nisal and go.."

Deeptha agreed to meet Nisal at last as Thanuja had begged him two or three times.

While entering the function hall with Thanuja, Deeptha looked around the hall with the intention of seeing Sansali at least once.

Sansali did not see Deeptha as she was talking to Pasan.

Deeptha went to the bride and groom with Thanuja in a calm manner to talk. Seeing Deeptha, Nisal's heart was filled with hopeful feelings. But no only Nisal but also Shanuki was very upset with the announcement of Deeptha's decision.

After talking to Nisal and greeting the newlyweds, Deeptha walked towards the door to leave the ballroom.

Sansali, who was smiling and talking various things endlessly with Pasan suddenly stop talking. Pasan looked at her in amazement, and he saw that she is looking at someone like a stone all of a sudden. It was then that Pasan saw a young man staring at Sansali with wide eyes from near the door of the ballroom.

Pasan grabbed Sansali's hand and opened his voice in surprise.

"Honey.. who is that…?"

Even though she heard Pasan's words, Sansali did not pay attention to them and looked at Deeptha. Sansali felt her eyes wet with tears. A thing sign came out of her mouth.

Lashani saw her friend crying and she went near to Sansali and hugged her to comfort her. But Sansali, who had pushed Lasani aside, started running towards Deeptha who was standing.

Sansali approached Deeptha, put her head on his chest, and began to cry incessantly. Deeptha touched her head allowing Sansali to cry until the pain subsided.

Sansali began to hum softly in a moment.

"Why did you leave me… didn't you miss me… I love you Deeptha.. please don't go anywhere again… Don't leave me…"

Deeptha was realizing that no matter how hard he tried to forget her, he could not do so. Deeptha realized that he felt a strange feeling in his heart as soon as he saw her.

Deeptha touched Sansali's head gently,

"I'm not going anywhere again my gem… I won't leave you and I promise to be close to you every day…" he said and hugged her beloved tenderly.

Not only Nisal and Shanuki but also Sansali's beloved mother and father watched the moment with happy tears in their eyes.
