CHAPTER 7

After some days, she continued with her daily routine. Xavier told her that he noticed some changes in her, but she didn't show any sign of nervousness; she told him she was having mood swing.

Later, he went on a business trip, giving her time to visit her father.

Roxy decided against calling her father; she went to the company under her father.

"Do you have an appointment?" the lady at the desk asked.

"I guess you must be new," Roxy said, tapping her fingers on the desk.

"Tell him it's D7," Roxy said.

The lady gave her a weird look and proceeded to make a call to her boss.

"He said you can go in," The lady said.

After hearing the statement, she ran to the elevator, blocking someone from entering; she eventually got to his office and knocked.

"Enter," Damien said.

Roxy entered and slammed the door, "What the fuck is that?" She shouted.

"Don't shout here," Damien said sternly.

"You fucked up everything," Roxy ignored and continued shouting.

"You were already fucked up the day you went against him," Damien said.

Roxy clenched her fist, her mind devoured by anger.

"I want to speak to my father," she said.

"You didn't even notice he is behind you," Damien mocked.

Shocked, she turned her back.

"What a disappointment," Her dad said.

"Dad," Roxy said, moving back.

"Don't call me that," Her dad slapped the table.

"What the fuck do you want?" Roxy asked; her eyes were becoming wet.

"Kill her," Her dad said, not bothered by the gravity of the word.

"I can't," Roxy said, her heart in turmoil.

"Are you still fulfilling that dead boy's wishes," Her dad said, his voice mocked her.

"That has nothing to do with it," Roxy said, the tears in her eyes fell.

"And there she goes crying," Damien muttered to himself.

"It has everything to do with it," Her dad shouted, hitting a table beside him.

"Letting a traitor child live is the worst sin," Her dad said sternly.

"She doesn't even know anything," Roxy shouted.

"Leave," Her dad said.

"Who the fuck is Mr.K?" Roxy asked, her fist still clenched.

"Mike told you," Her dad clicked his tongue, and Roxy nodded.

"Should we kill him?" Her dad asked.

"You promised not to touch my friends," Roxy bowed her head.

"I thought you wouldn't have a reasonable talk with him considering how anxious and scared you are," Her father laughed.

"Who is he?" Roxy still asked.

"Knowing wouldn't change a thing," Her dad said.

Roxy laughed with tears still flowing down her eyes.

"It would be better if you followed my wishes, mi hija *My daughter* " Her dad called out tenderly.

"It would be best if those bastards stay out of my lane," Roxy said, wiping the terrors out of her eyes.

"Do you hate your fake parents?" Her dad asked, but she didn't answer.

"Lilith, the family anticipates your return," Damien suddenly said.

"Curse it," Roxy spat out.

"Lilith..." Her brother called.

"Don't call me that," Roxy said.

"Are you abandoning your name?" Her dad sighed.

"I just came to tell you to stay out of it," Roxy said, leaving the office.

She walked dull and numb as memories of him assaulted her thoughts, and fresh tears flowed.

*Why did you have to leave*

*Why did all of you have to leave*

*What should I do? I am losing control*

She didn't know if her mind was playing tricks on her, but she could see him running through a field without a care in the world; it brought a smile to her face.

He seemed to approach her, "Why are you crying?"

Roxy didn't answer and just looked at him.

"Is it because of your father?" He asked.

"I am sorry," Roxy said, clenching her chest.

"What are you sorry for?" He asked with a smile.

"For everything," Roxy said, cleaning her tears.

"You were powerless, don't blame yourself," He comforted her.

"You seem happy," Roxy smiled.

He laughed; it sounded so beautiful, the same way it sounded before he left this world.

"I miss you every day," Roxy said.

"I miss you too," He sighed.

"You should probably go home," he said, caressing her cheeks.

And that is how she found herself sitting on a stone slab.

Roxy decided it was time to visit the house, so she took a taxi and got there.

They were relaxing, and when they sighted her and beckoned to her.

Roxy smiled and greeted them; she sat down with them outside.

"What brings you here," Her fake dad asked.

"I just met with Alexander; if you value your life, don't meddle in my business," Roxy warned.

"After everything," Her fake dad said.

"Shut it, you almost killed her when I was eight," Roxy smiled.

"I have an assignment for you; stop her relationship with James," Roxy looked at them.

"How?" Her fake mum asked.

"I don't care, don't kill him," Roxy said nonchalantly.

"Is this because of Agim," Her fake mom asked.

"You don't get to say his name," Roxy said, pouring the drink on her.

"You stupid girl," Her dad shrieked.

"Have you forgotten who I am? I could kill you If I want to, but I hate staining my hands," Roxy said.

"Where is she?" Roxy asked.

"She moved in yesterday," Her fake mom said.

"It seems I rushed it a lot," Roxy said, looking at her nails.

Roxy didn't stay there for long before leaving for Mike's.

The tired boy opened the door, "What do you want?"

"Are you not happy to see me?" Roxy asked, sad.

"I can never be happy seeing you," Mike said, closing the door and proceeding to sit on the sofa.

"My dad might come after you," Roxy said, breaking the news.

"He won't," Mike said confidently.

"I am serious this time; tell my sister," Roxy said.

"Why does he want you back so badly?" Mike asked.

"Family should never be separated," Roxy said.

"That isn't family," Mike's face changed.

"It is to me," Roxy said.

"What about Elsa?" Mike asked.

"I will fulfill Agim's wish, but for now, she and James shouldn't be together," Roxy said somberly.

"What if she refuses to yield?" Mike asked, curious to hear her answer.

"I would kidnap him and tell her he is dead," Roxy said.

*What did I expect* Mike thought.
