Part 8

How could this happen? After Twilight informed me about the shadow mare she asked me if I knew anything about it but I couldn't remember anything that happened. Leaving Twilight and I headed to my room to try and remember anything but I couldn't, like how did I end up in the Everfree. This doesn't make any sense not one bit. This all started after I met that shadow pony, then voices and seeing a pony to this happened, is this all somehow linked together? No, it... it can't be I don't what to believe it how could this all be connected? Why now, why me?

"Haha your starting to figure this out aren't you Tempest?" the shadow pony asked.

"What do you want now?"

"I don't want anything but you want answers for last night's unfortunate events."

"What do you have to know anything about the fire?" I asked.

"For starters the shadow pony that some of the townsfolk saw was you."

"How could it be me? I'm not even a shadow pony!" I argued.

"You also claim that you have no memory of last night right?"

"Yes, I can't remember anything. So what does it have to do about me being that shadow mare?"

"Well, I can show you if you want?"

"Show me."

"Alright."

"The shadow pony smiled and then a flash of light emitted from her horn and just like that it was the night from before. I remember laying on the ground crying, I cried myself to sleep that's all I could remember. Watching myself sleep was weird what was weirder what looked like smoke started to come from my body changing appearance. The smoke changed my appearance into what looked like a shadow. She.. well I was taller my mane a deep red and flowy, my horn was intaken and looked like a changelings horn along with my hoves. I watched as I horror as myself change before my eyes and watched as I left the castle and ran towards Ponyvile. It was clearer I was the one who started the fires in Ponyvile that caused ponies to lose their lives, the reason I couldn't remember anything was that I had no control or any knowledge that this happened to me at all.

Everything that the shadow pony said was true. I was a monster a pony that could change at any moment that I had no power over and hurt the pony I care for. I could hurt Twilight, without knowing that I did. I don't want that to happen this all happened because of me. I'm a monster, a shadow monster.

-Twilights pov-

"I don't know."

After Spike had sent the letter within seconds Celestia and Luna walked through the doors of the castle. This must be important enough for both of the royal sisters to come. Watching Celestia's gaze over at Luna and then Spike and lastly me.

"Where is the shadow mare? Where is she and who saw the mare?" Celestia blurted out.

"I don't know where she is but Starlight said the Mr. and Mrs. Cake saw the shadow mare. The Cakes said that the mare after she was finished she ran into the Everfree forest and that's all they know and said."

"Why would the shadow mare just attack and then leave towards the Everfree?" Luna asked.

"I'm not sure sister but I'll get to the bottom of this. If it's what or who I think then it's worse then we know. Twilight I'll look in the Everfree for any signs of this mare and Luna will stay to help look over Ponyvile."

"Is there anything else I could do to add you, Celestia?"

"No not now Twilight, but there are books coming for the library from Canterlot that I want you to look over. These books no pony has ever seen because of the story they hold that I entrust to you to read. I hope the books serve you well and shed light on the situation."
