Chapter 2: The Look That Warms the Heart

Brenner Souka didn't have an easy childhood. Born in solitude, ignored by his own family, he grew up carrying an enormous psychological weight. Still, he tried to live as best he could, maintaining a positive attitude amid the pain and abandonment.

When Brenner reached adolescence, things didn't improve. At age 13, he faced a new set of challenges when he started attending school. Brenner was an easy target for bullying, due to his weight and height. He was taller and heavier than his classmates, which made him an object of mockery and ridicule.

However, Brenner never let his sadness show publicly. He kept his crying to himself, letting the tears fall only in the privacy of his room. It was there that he allowed himself to feel the pain, the weight of his ignored and lonely existence.

But everything changed the day he saw Brianna Alexa. Brianna was a 19-year-old girl, beautiful, with long hair and a body that attracted the admiration of everyone around her. But what really set her apart was her compassion. She was different from the others - popular, but without the cruelty that often accompanies popularity. She never made fun of Brenner, perhaps because she didn't seem to know of her existence.

From the moment he laid eyes on Brianna, Brenner fell in love. He knew he was shy, that he might not have a chance with a girl like her. But he also knew he had to try. He decided he would befriend Brianna, that maybe, if he was lucky, she could become something more to him. Maybe a girlfriend, maybe even a wife.
