Stupid Alex

That was the perfect time to test whether the water system was working correctly. The tank still had some water but the water wouldn't last them a month. But the good thing was that he he had installed a water collection system for the tank.

 He opened the door and didn't even look around. He'd completely forgotten that he had a visitor. He undressed and got into the shower. As he washed his body, bits of dirt fell. The water gradually changed from black to brown then to crystal clear.

 He dressed up in completely new attire. He looked at himself in the mirror. He walked out of the bathroom and hurried to the kitchen for breakfast. Upon arrival, he found Sarah there cooking. He wanted to help her but he didn't. He instead headed for the sitting room and lay on the couch. Soon, he was fast asleep.

Sarah had already finished cooking when she came looking for him. She found him asleep on the couch. She knelt beside him and looked at his face. 'He seems to be going through a lot,' she said to herself. She gazed at him then lay her head on his chest. Soon they were both asleep.

* * * *

He was first to wake up. In whatever position they were in, was weird. She had lain her head on his chest. He took this chance to imagine what else what he needed.

He also covered her with his jacket while admiring her soft brown skin. "I'll stay by my prince," she said in her slumber as pelted her cheek then her hair. He remembered that he hadn't really checked the garden. He also remembered something weird had happened during the survey trip.

Once he had arrived around at the edge of Rockville, close to the neighborhood forest, he saw something. He couldn't really make out what it was. It was tall (At least with a giant like tallness.), muscular and it walked with heavy rumbling steps. Its skin had peeled off completely and strands of muscle cells could be seen together with its massive abs.

He was thrown out of imagination when she woke up. As he sat up, he remembered her words from her sleep. And, obviously, he wanted to know who this prince was. "Sarah," he called. "What do you say to helping me around?" he asked. He diverted from the question he was about to ask. Though she nodded, she looked disappointed.

"Why the face?" he asked. She looked away. He really didn't understand her. He remembered what his father would often do before leaving the house. He would kiss his mother and him on the cheek. He did the same thing since he was about to leave. She was shocked and got the wrong reasons for the kiss. Her face flushed red as she blushed.

"I'll be leaving so take care," he said as he stood up. That time, Sarah wanted to be true to her dream. A dream of a happy life even during such times. She refused to let him go so she stood up and pushed him back on the couch. She sat on his laps and lay her head on his chest.

He knew what she meant. 'So were the words directed to me?' he asked himself. He knew that leaving without her would be a problem. But he had to think of another way around. Why? He was a freak. He couldn't be attacked by zombies even when he was human. He wanted to keep it to himself. Though he knew it would unravel some day and she will leave him.

"Sarah if I was not human would you still be my side?" he asked. He hadn't noticed he'd asked loudly. This question came as a shock and she didn't have an answer. He looked at the ceiling. "Sarah, I'm not leaving through the gates, I'm just going to the garden," he told her. She slowly got up and apologized. "Sorry I don't know what came over me."

As she left, he rose and thought of the plants in the garden. He knew they wouldn't grow in one day but he decided to check on them nonetheless. He went to the and surprise! They hadn't grown leave alone germinating but he remembered something. First things first, there was a problem with the shower. It couldn't regulate water flow. He decided to fix that first. He pushed the bathroom door open and what he saw there utterly shocked him. Sarah faced the mirror and cried.

"Why doesn't he get it?" she asked the mirror. "Am I not attractive to him?" He wondered what she meant. He wanted to ask her what she meant but but that was something he couldn't bring himself to do. He quickly hid behind the wall next to him as she exited. "I just hope he soon understands my emotions I have for him," she said as she exited the bathroom.

She passed by him and didn't notice him. He wondered what kind of emotions she had. He walked out slowly and pretended to come from the bedroom. Fixing the shower, he began to think about his choices. He wondered why she didn't show any trauma. She did see her friends being eaten by zombies before fainting, right?

That would be enough to give him trauma. Though he'd witnessed them, he didn't have a trauma. Or was it partly because... He stopped. He didn't want to venture further. He felt like he was being watched. He was done right before noon arrived. True to his word, Sarah had stood at the door watching him. He didn't know what exactly she was watching but, either way, he didn't care.

He'd resolved that she wouldn't like him anyway, if she knew what he really was. Why the zombies wouldn't attack him or follow his orders? He knew why. But, of course, he didn't want her to figure out the truth. He might end up getting hurt. He felt a strong emotion of grief and blankness.

She could see that he was sank in his thoughts. Then as he remembered the basement, he began to sob.
