A Phoenix?!

<WHITLOCK POV>

(IN THE WOODS)

As they rush toward me I jumped backward just in time before the middle one hits the ground,

The one on the left jump towards me, As it was about to hit me I ducked which reveals its vulnerable belly before slashing his belly which splattered blood on me covering my right eye "1 Down" I said while catching my breath

After that, The right one manages to scrape my shoulder but I almost dodge it, Which causes me to stumble, As I looked up I saw one of them in front of me preparing to slash me, Slashing the ground after I rolled to dodge it,

I Threw my dagger at it which landed on its left eye while running I manage to pick up a twig and I stab it on the right eye of the wolf while getting my dagger which was still stuck in the left eye as I grab my dagger I stabbed it in the head "1 More" I said while trying to catch my breath,

As the last one rushed towards me I swung which surprise me I thought it jump as normal animals would but it duke which exposed my body but I manage to block it but I was pinned down on the ground,

But while being pinned down a felt something trying to crawl out of my body listening to my instinct I let it out, But then I realized it was hot as I thought that I saw my dagger lighting up with fire which causes the wolf to step back,

As I stand back up and got into my stance but before I swung my dagger it was already melted so I threw it down and concentrated my feeling into my arm which lighted on fire then my whole arm is now burning,

As I began to charge towards the wolf it answered back by charging at me as it began to swing its legs at me I jumped and as I hit my fist into its head a big explosion occurs which sends me flying towards a tree which knocks me out,

As I woke up in my mother's lap in the carriage half of my shirt is burned off, My arm was fully bandaged "Good morning mom" I tried to talk with the energy I had "don't do that again, You scared me" My mom said in a sad and worried tone "Sorry" I replied quietly before sitting upright

I looked at the horizon and quickly fell back asleep 'It's quite good to get a lot of sleep since in my last life I only got sound ten hours of sleep a week' I woke up to a thud which startled me,

Which turns out to be Lightning from the rain "How long has it been raining for mom?" I asked my mom "About an hour ago" she answered 'An hour!?, This could be a storm'

I thought to myself with a worried expression

'Can a carriage handle a storm, If so how long can it last stop, You're overthinking yourself Whit, It's probably nothing' I thought to myself before looking into the river, After a few moments later the wind got stronger

We were riding through a cliff 'This is the worst time to get close to a cliff!' I thought to my self while we were riding the carriage flipped which I jumped out with my mother before

As Iwith my mom got out of the carriage as saw all of them, They've must have jumped out too but the carriage was gone and the horses that pulled it too, But the wing was too strong for my small body which sends me flying, But I manage to grab on the cliff trying my best to hold on

"Whit!" my mother shouted for me with a scared face "I okay mom" I shouted my desperately trying not to fall off, As I began to slip my father began to run towards me but before he could reach me I started to fall

After that, the only thing I remember was dad's scared face, Which I've never seen before and my mom screaming my name "Whit!" I just hope if I don't make it at least let them live god, If there's any god here or who they worship to as I felt my body getting covered with wind then I have gotten an idea

I can use the blast from the fire to slow down as if were something told me to do it so I ignored it and I started to focus myself as I focus on my arms I started to saw some sparks but it wasn't getting stronger I tried harder then eventually the sparks were getting smaller until it was gone

But I continue to use mana then I realized something was covering my palms it was water from the storm 'I can still use this' As I was about to hit the ground I let all the water out which exploded and causing me to only a few broken bones than being dead

After that I was knocked out for the rest of the day then I woke up again but I was in a cave with a fire on my left side but it wasn't hot but cold then I realized it must be fire healing magic

As I woke up I sat up with my back towards a wall "Goodmorning young one" someone said with a deep voice as I looked up I saw a giant phoenix which I just started to look at its bright eyes with the sound of fie crackling

"Who are you?" I asked hesitantly "I am Veigan young one" It answers "Did you save me?" I asked again "yes young one" it answered, "Why?" I asked with a scared expression

"Ever since I first sense you I could tell you can handle my power," It said to me

"Hold your power?" I said "Even if I am immortal I can still die," Veigan said, "What do you mean?" I asked with a confused expression "Someone or something gave me a curse and there is only one thing that can release the curse and it to give my powers to a mortal being" Veigan said which shocked me

"Then were you the one who started the storm so you could see me?" I said while getting ready to strike "Of course not! Even an immortal being isn't that scummy, I was just planning to take you while they were sleeping and talk to you after that make you go back to your family, But something interrupted more like someone" Veigan said

"Don't you want revenge for trying to kill your family, I could give it to you but first I must train your body and mana core, We shall start tomorrow" After that, I immediately fell asleep

After I woke up I felt really heavy and tired after that I manage to stand up

Then I looked sound and he was nowhere to be found so I waited And waited to get angry I used my fire magic on a wall and it made a giant hole then I realized there was a spiral mark on my shoulder I tried to touch it and it had a crazy amount of pressure just like Veigan

Then I remember 'didn't he said he was going to give me his power? what if he already gave me his power while I was asleep' I thought to myself I waited for another day then he didn't come so, I started to travel by myself "This is going to be hard" I said
