Karma is real.

Tyler's POV

Thanks to me throwing Emily out, I had I good night's sleep. My mom came the next day and wanted to yell my head off. I just stayed quiet. I didn't really want to argue. I just wanted to go back to sleep and thankfully she left and I did. I didn't come out the whole of the day. I just wanted to rest but also, I didn't want to see Emily. She always stresses me out.

I thought about our wedding and honestly, I couldn't believe it. I am married. I know I assured Emily that we would get a divorce but right now, I don't know. It is so clear that my mom likes Emily and I mean like -like. She treats her like her own daughter. Why else would she scold me like that? But there was still hope. I know Emily will do something stupid. She always does. So, in a way, I am counting on her stupidity.

The next day, I woke up early. I had a meeting with the elders and I had to be there. My mom canceled all my meetings for two weeks. She said it is my honeymoon and I am meant to be with my wife. I came down for breakfast and I saw my mom already seated.

"Tyler! please come join us." She said with a smile on her face. she was so excited. Everything looked weird. There was a lot of food on the table. It was like we were having a feast or something.

"Are you expecting someone?" I asked. Because I know I am not.

"No." she laughed. "Emily cooked. It is a family tradition." My mom said with a smile on her face. she was really happy.

"What?" I said in shock. Does Emily know how to cook? The woman in question came out with a bowl of chocolate pudding and dropped it on the table. There was a smile on her face.

"Emily here cooked everything thing on her own. Isn't it nice?" My mom was so excited. I haven't seen her like this in a long time. The last time I saw this kind of smile on her face was when father was still alive.

"Oh, it is nothing, mother. You are all family to me." Emily said with a smile.

Family? Mother? What is going on here? I looked at Emily and I knew she was up to something. The smile on her face said so. I looked at all the bowls on the table. I am sure something is wrong. The Emily I know doesn't cook.

"Son you should try the food. It is amazing." Mother said and dug in. Emily took some food from the bowl I thought there was nothing to worry about. We are all eating from the same bowl.

I cut some of the chicken and tasted it and I was surprised. For someone I have never seen cook, this is really nice.

"How is it?" Mom asked. Both of them looked at me, eagerly waiting for my answer. I looked at them. I will not give Emily that satisfaction.

"Not bad."

Emily's face became a little bit sour but she covered it with a smile.

We all ate and honestly, the food was nice. My mom kept on singing her praises like there was no tomorrow. I can't believe this girl. She was supposed to make my mom hate not the other way around.

We were almost done and all that was left was the dessert.

"I will go get the dessert." She said and left for the kitchen. I wanted to follow her but my mom stopped me.

"Don't worry, she will be out soon."

How do I explain to my mom now? I know this girl is up to something.

She came out with a plate of freshly baked cake.

"Wow Emily, this smells really nice." My mom commented.

"Thanks, Mom. Please try it."

I looked at her. She had an eager smile on her face. I looked at the cake then at her and then at my mom. If I don't eat this mom would surely make a fuss out of nothing. I took a bite just to make her happy.

"Mom, I will be having a meeting with the elders today," I informed her.

"Oh, really? Why?"

"We want to discuss a few things about the peace treaty with the other packs."

Suddenly, I started feeling itchy and my neck started to hurt. I thought it was just a little thing but it kept on itching. I looked up and Mom and Emily were staring at me.

"Mom, why are you staring at me? is there something wrong?"

Suddenly, my hands and arms started to itch as well.

"What is wrong with me?" I lifted my sleeves to starch it off only to see big red bumps on my body. My eyes widened. What the hell the Emily put in this food?

"Claire, call the doctor now! My mom yelled.

"What the hell did you put in the cake?" I started to panic. The bumps were really hurting.

"I didn't put anything. I just put the normal ingredients: flour, baking powder, milk, sugar, peaches…"

"Peaches!!"

"Yes. What's wrong?"

I was really light-headed that I could faint at any moment. I slipped in and out of consciousness. I could see my mom and Emily. I know I was forced to drink and swallow a thing or two.

By the time I woke up, the doctor was already there prescribing some pills. Thankfully by the time I woke. The itching had stopped.

"Emily, please stay with him. I will be right back." My mom said and left with the doctor.

"You did this." I immediately told her. I know she did this on purpose.

There was shock on her face. she held her chest with disbelief and said, "Me." I almost but it. But suddenly her lips curved into a huge smile. The switch was so scary and crazy. She came to make to my bedside.

"This is for throwing me out. Next time you will learn to be a gentleman." She said with a smile on her face. Now I am certain, she is fucking crazy. She was so caring in front of my mother like she was the best wife ever and now she is trying to kill me.

"You should get some sleep it will help." She said and left.

Thankfully, after I got some rest, I felt much better. That doctor really did his job. Whatever he gave me made me feel a lot better but Oliver didn't.

"Dude, I can't believe she did that to you." He kept on laughing at me

"Dude if you will please leave," I told him angrily.

"I am sorry." He said I took a deep breath to control his laughter but he just burst out again. I rolled my eyes.

"Well, next time don't lock her out."

My phone started to ring. I looked at the caller ID thinking it might be one of the elders because I missed the meeting because of Emily but it was an unknown number. I didn't bother picking. It must be a prank call or something. But the phone kept on ringing.

"Dude just pick the call. you never know."

I looked at the ringing phone and finally answered the call.

"It's Tyler Bay."

The caller was a bit hesitant.

"It is Emily." The caller said.

"Ok."

"We got into a little trouble and we need you to get us out."

"What do you mean we?" I asked.

I could hear a voice in the background urging her. I knew Emily would never call me on her own.

"Amelia and I got into some kind of trouble."

"And you need me to get you out." I wanted to confirm.

"Yes Tyler, we need you." She spoke on the phone.

My lips curved into a huge smile. So, karma does work after all.
