Affinities are the 15 classifications that the different abilities developed by awakened ones fall under. Affinities are hereditary and never change unless you have an ability that allows you to take or copy another person's affinity. For example, both your parents are earth manipulators that simply means their affinity is Elementalist, earth Elementalist to be specific, and which means you'd inherit the same affinity and most likely development an ability to manipulate the earth, however, if your parents are two different affinities you might inherit both.
The Affinities:
ALTERATION
Affects the world around one's self by altering the laws of reality and manipulating it to one's own accord.
ARCANE
Spellcasting, most with this affinity are bestowed with the power to shapeshift or at least glamour (an illusory disguise) to hide their true forms. They may also even be able to transform others into virtually anything.
ALCHEMY
The mystic and scientific pursuit of the power, focusing on Elemental Transmutation (ranging from transforming base materials into purer (lead or iron into silver or gold) to making permanent changes on the state of matter (making glass malleable or durable), They also know how to create potions (for rejuvenation and immortality) and magical items, although these are generally for practical use.
ENCHANTING
Some enchanters have extraordinary beauty and are capable of enrapturing others in a vulnerable state. Other enchanters are endowed with the ability to charm objects through the use of spoken words or other occult items such as wands or certain talismans.
RUNOLOGY
The user can create, shape, and manipulate Science, a method to obtain knowledge through organized experimentation.
NATURE
The user can draw upon the physical forces of the natural world. They can summon/create/control elemental creatures and harness natural magical energy.
DARK ANIMACY
The dark form of manipulation. The users have powers that revolve around manipulating the dead, death, the death force, and/or souls. They can also communicate with the deceased - either by summoning their spirit as an apparition or raising them bodily - for divination, imparting the means to foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge.
PSYCHOKINESIS
The users can utilize mental manipulation and psychic abilities like extrasensory perception, telepathy, telekinesis, etc.
GRIMM
The user possesses a supernatural condition, capabilities/attributes/aspects drastically beyond what is naturally possible but with a certain weakness/limitation that prevents them from achieving an Absolute Condition.
ELEMENTALISM
Users can create, shape, and manipulate elements, the rudimentary, simplest, or essential parts/principles of which anything consists.
ILLUSIONISM
Users can create, shape, and manipulate illusions, causing targets to see, hear, touch, smell and/or taste things that do not exist or cause them to perceive things differently from what they truly are.
ANIMACY
Users use their aura to control the movement or action of a certain person, object, or another awakened's ability.
CONJUGATION
Conjurers can change their aura into a permanent, physical object. Conjurer abilities aren't visible to those who are not awakened but, are still able to hurt them.
ENHANCEMENT
Enhancers can boost their natural physique or the qualities of items in their possession.
SPECIALIST
Any mixture of the different types of affinities, various combinations of Elemental Manipulation (especially electricity and fire) and Life-Force Manipulation (Immortality, Healing and even creating life or at the least clones/homunculi).
