She snorted. "You don't understand who Caitlin Valusigin is."
I took a deep breath, held it, and then exhaled. "I am listening." I said. "Teach me."
"All right, let's start at the beginning. She is what we humans call an enemy. Of my sister, of my family, and of this shop. I owe her no kindness, no mercy."
She squinted her eyes at me. "Do you?"
"I've not properly met the woman." I said.
There was an uncomfortable pause. "Will she truly be safe in the company of three demons?" I asked.
"Three lust demons?" Wendi asked. "From what Gwen has told me, they're doomed."
"Is your sister... objective in this assessment?"
"Objective in... you know too many formal words, and you may speak plainly."
"Is she a Demon-Binder? Skilled in Occult or Eldritch magics?"
Wendi seemed put off by the question. "Are you, my apprentice?"
