Dancing on Clouds
I still recall that sun kissed day
When on soft clouds we chose to play
Spinning and dipping our hearts alight
Dancing on billows fluffy and white
To music only we could hear
Like angels, we took to the air
Skimming the puffs light as meringue
In love's sweet rapture we took the plane
Up where blue meets the heavens divine
The world below faded far from sight
United in our own world divine
We waltzed on clouds ablaze in light
No limit could contain our joy
As together we flew buoyant as boy and girl
In love's chrysalis we did cocoon
Away from the earthly, inside our own tune
In gossamer gown you floated on high
Hair streamed gold, laughter glinting your eye
My feet never touched the ground
As with you I spiritually wound
We climbed cloud mountains, played in misty caves
Spun cloud castles, cathedrals and naves
We rolled like children through the strobe light
Never had I felt such labyrinthine delight
To fly with you through the wide open sky
Our hearts yearning up, up and away to fly high
Where in the azure we wrote love's missives
On heavens vibrating, joy we derived
We lay on our backs, gazed up at the sun
Tracing shapes in clouds on the move
Content just to be, breathless in love
As below we heard faint earth's commove
In sky cobalt, cloud amphitheater
We fashioned a world sacred, creative
Beyond earthbound limits, together we flew
Loving each moment, each second anew
I never wanted to leave your side
As together we opened up to love inside
Beyond fear or doubt, just spirits entwined
At last in freedom, transformed, refined
I wished we could stay in the heavens divine
Just you and I diffused in starshine
Away from the world and its toil and tears
Only lost in each moment throughout the years
But slowly, softly we floated back down
To earth and its twilight from heaven we wound
The memories held in heart's summits high
Would nourish our love as time did ply
Though back on land, transformed we did walk
For we'd danced in celestial halls unlock
Now bathed in beauty abloom inside
For on clouds we did bide and in love glide
And sometimes when the sun beams down
Or at night when stars jeweled my gown
I'd remember the bliss of our dance above
Reminding me always that this is love
To have danced with you in the wide open sky
Lost in your eyes as we flew up high
Whatever comes, we'll recall the view
When love lifted us up into heaven's blue
That magic day will inside me ever glimmer
Its joy profound death nor time can dim
For love made us soar, two souls pure and free
Dancing wild on clouds, just you and me
So take my hand now, let's again rise
Beyond earth's turmoil, its tears and lies
And dance once more on love's clouds light
Two hearts mid heavens revealed in flight
To waltz with you above earthly sorrow
Is to rediscover horizons bright with tomorrows
Where again we are breathless, effervescent

Letters that on the wind uplifted fly
To have this time with you above all of life's clamor
Is life's gift, amid chaos love's calmer

And once more in truth and beauty remain
Up where the air makes spirits light
And the clouds hold dreams so bright
That is where again I long to be
Set aloft and alive with you, loving, carefree

Abound with joy as when life was new

As in youth when you were my sage
Teaching me love past rapport earthbound
