Chapter 34: The Awkward Date

Pretending to date Isaac was much harder than lying to him for two months had been. He’d been able to forget he was lying, sometimes.

He couldn’t forget their current arrangement was fake, that Isaac wasn’t happy to see him and would rather be anywhere else.

The fact that ‘anywhere else’ might include an ex who’d broken his heart stung more than words could say.

Isaac met him in front of the movie theatre, hands shoved in his pockets and scowling at the paparazzi already taking pictures.

This was off to a great start. Sean might be in over his head.

“Hey, how was your vacation?” Sean asked loudly enough for the reporters to hear.

There had been no vacation, but it would give people a reason for why they hadn’t been seen together in almost three weeks. Hannah had sent him some articles wondering if they’d broken up, and he needed to smooth the rumors over. The last thing he wanted was his fans thinking he was heartbroken and taking it out on Isaac.
