For The Broken

Smoking is for the broken.

Some people do it to fill a hole, an emptiness inside

they do it to feel whole again

and sometimes, they do it just to belong

but there is always this one person

no one would have suspected them to do it

they are too innocent, right?

but they don't know

that the kindest hearts

break a little more every day

and are starting to feel numb

so they do it to feel something, anything.

smoking kills

but not as much

as living does

and these people

are not criminals

for trying to kill

their sorrow.
