Siege of hell school (part 6)

"Ow that fucking hurts." Alex snaps as Tank puts the last bandage on Alex's fingers. "Don't be a baby. I mean come on dude Jessica is still working there, and I imagine her hands are doing much worse." Tank mocks back. "Anybody seen Riley?" Rat asks. The 2 boys shake their heads. "Looking for me?" Riley asks directly behind Rat. The younger boy reflexively spins stabbing for the head before he could realize what he was doing. Riley catches his wrist and grabs his shoulder, stopping the movement completely. "Good reflexes, I'm going to need them." Riley says releasing the younger boy. "What for?" Rat asks embarrassed blushing. "Your gonna watch my back while we get them buses in position." Riley says. "Oh...why me?" Rat asks. "You are very good with a bow and can kill the zombies before they get close." Riley says. "I thought it was because I almost stabbed you." Rat says, sighing with relief that Riley wasn't mad. "You didn't have a hope of succeeding." Riley laughs. The garage door opens and Jessica staggers in her hands a mess of torn skin and blood from the endless work she had been doing. "I got the arrows done Riley now what?" She asks in an exhausted huff as she collapses into a chair. "Fix your hands up and then rest. Alex I need as many pipe bombs as you can get me and I need them to be strong." Riley says walking into the Garage. "What the fuck man I was arrowing all day too why don't I get to rest?" Alex complains as Riley comes out of the garage carrying a duffel bag filled with tools. "Me and Rat haven't slept since yesterday and now have to go clear an entire depot not knowing how many zombies there are and then we have to hold the depot while getting the buses ready and then we have to place them before coming back for the bombs and then we have to set traps all again without sleep and facing zombies the whole time so Alex. Do you think we are being unfair by making you make pipe bombs after you had been making arrows all day? Should we start setting a fair workload or did I misunderstand you and you were just listing your tasks?" Riley rants staring at Alex who internally scolds himself remembering the incident where Riley brought him his knife making him see the ass he was. "I'll have them ready for you by the time you get back." Alex says quietly. "Stop if you get too tired, don't need you blowing Crystal Lake up." Riley says tapping Rats shoulder and heading out the door. "Be safe." Jessica says to Rat, before heading upstairs. The boys walk past the truck and van. "We walking?" Rat asks. Riley nods. "We are going to have buses to move and when we are done we won't want to have to backtrack just to get the van plus it'll give us a minute to see how many pre-horde zombies we will need to clear." Riley says as the boys walk in the dying light. Rat pulls a flashlight out and holds it in his free hand but leaves it off. "You think of everything don't you? Like how do you do it man?" Rat asks watching Riley closely. "I just make as many scenarios in my head where everything goes horrible and figure out how to prevent it. Also I'm hella paranoid." Riley says sidestepping a zombie that was behind a car and stabbing its head. "I see." Rat says walking on. After 30 minutes of walking they reach the bus lot and watch the zombies shuffling around. Riley takes his bow off and grabs an arrow. Drawing the arrow back Riley aims between the holes in the chain link fence. DING. "fucking hell guess we will have to go in first." Riley groans. Rat chuckles and fires off 3 arrows in the span of seconds and all three fly through and strike the zombie they are aimed at. "Son of a bitch." Riley says laughing. Rat uses all his arrows then turns to Riley drawing his Bayonet knife. "What don't you want, these?" Riley asks. holding out half of his arrows. Rat sheaths the knife and quickly dispatches 6 more zombies. After picking the lock on the chain holding the gate the pair enter. Riley quickly uses his 6 remaining arrows and grins at Rat. ``6 dead fucks" Riley says humorously. "Yeah but I have 18 dead fucks so I mean I'm the better killer Ri." Rat says playfully. A door falls open near a parts shed and many zombies come flowing out. "So you wanna play who's the better killer huh alright let's play." Riley says happily drawing his knives and twirling them. Rat not wanting to be shown up or seem weak before Riley draws his knife. "You're on."

30 minutes later the boys sit atop a pile of bodies. "Okay so now that that's done do you wanna hold the light while I check the buses?" Riley asks Rat. "Sure.'' The pair move to a blood spattered and stained bus. Popping open the engine compartment Rat whistles. "Well shit do you think you'll be able to work on this Ri?" Rat asks. Riley grunts, dropping the tools they had taken with them. "Dude if you can work on that busted piece of shit I'll shit a brick." Rat says whistling. Riley laughs wickedly. "Do you want to drop your pants or just roll it down your leg?" Riley says scanning the neglected engine. "How are you good at everything?" Rat asks not bothering to disbelieve Riley. "I had to learn a lot of skills to survive when my family died." Riley says beginning his work asking for various tools. "I thought you were in foster care after that?" Rat questions after a minute. "I had shelter but come on man you've been through foster wouldn't you say a fight to survive is accurate?" Riley asks. "True" Rat says. "But i learned all these skills to survive, myself mostly to be honest the quiet between days and nights was driving me insane so I learned how to fill that silence." Riley says. Then the boy enters the bus and starts it. "How?" Rat asks. "When I didn't want to go to school I would wait for the creep bus driver to start flirting with girl students and take the engine apart, I'm pretty much just doing it in reverse now." Riley says.
