Blue Torch

A friend once told me “ Time may be nothing to you but for the rest of us, it’s all we have. I’m sorry living has destroyed you”.

Artificial lighting

It had hardly been a couple of hours, but everything was new. I didn't altogether understand my surroundings or what my engagement would be in this realm.

I supposed Liliana had seen my viewpoint on the golden king because of the distance she generated between us.

My head ached. The Light inside their sanctuary was sharp, pristine white, radiating down on me. Another phenomenon I hadn't yet, witness before. Where were their lanterns, the rows of hardware carrying little fires to brighten the way?

How could the past be so distant from my future? What transpires that all of this becomes forgotten in my time? We were feral in comparison.

There were so many questions that I had. I didn't know which one to seek first. I didn't even know if wanted the answers.

I had never been nervous about anything in my entire existence, but I dreaded the knowledge I would learn.

I shunned experiencing this world and all its perks. Not only that, but I feared the peacefulness of not having to peer over one's shoulder for a moment.

No, I didn't wish to ask questions. I didn't want to learn about this place in fear it would be ripped out from under me.

Perhaps I was imagining all of this, perishing in Aurora's room with my sword still in my torso from the witch's blow.

"Are you alright?" Jon inquired, shattering my thoughts. I nodded at him, then again, realizing I myself didn't have that descent of an imagination.

I wouldn't have been capable of conjuring up entire architectures I had never known before. Also, my senses were developing at a startling rate.

I could pick up the smallest creatures walking around the area, stealing pieces of food Jon has spit out whilst speaking earlier.

Their little limbs sticking to the ground, peeling off with each step. I could detect Liliana's perfumed skin lingering around the room, mushrooms I suspected.

I had only seen them once, but the smell. Musty earth, it was mingling in with the fresh scent of rain.

A long tropical rain, the humidity filling her pores, leaving her skin moist. Wet wood draping over her like a cloak. She turned to meet my eyes.

Gorgeous eyes; eyes I had never experienced before. The Cyan bound around the silver like wide arms, completing a hug, slight but profound.

"This all must be very new for you," she spoke tenderly, the butter infused meat she had eaten rolling off her tongue into the air, supplying my nostrils with the sweet and salty scents of each bite she took.

These were the effects of my blade, the dragon bones. Transforming my sense, my being, taking me over. Would I remain myself, or would an immortal take over my mind as well? "It's not," I replied to her.

How long had I been staring at her, a raised eyebrow on her forehead suggested some time had passed? "Are you sure? From your memories, you've never even seen artificial lighting," she replied "Artificial lighting?" I asked, wait no, I wanted to avoid learning any of this. I didn't wish to know. "Yes, it made from solar panels.

Our friend Gemma discovered this place she brought all of us here after the, air raid" Liliana revealed once again

"Solar panels, bombing?" I replied confused, I didn't want any of this.

I didn't want to be here.

She went to speak "don't tell me" I announced abruptly "I don't intend to stay here long enough to understand about this world, so don't tell me" she frowned at me

"You're cursed Keeda, you can't ever go home" her remarks crashing into my chest "I'm confident I can, I just have to figure out a way" I countered "No Keeda she cursed you with a blood burden" her voice sadden with her own words "oh man" Jon putting down his spoon, I knew it was bad.

"Alright" I sighed. " What the fuck is a blood burden"
