Calm In The Storm

In Team W's locker room, Sho sat on the bench and patiently waited for the rest of his teammates to get dressed into their jerseys. He closed his eyes and fiddled with his fingers until Jinpachi audibly spoke through the intercom.

Jinpachi Ego: "Team W versus Team Y will now commence."

Team W got up from out of their lockers and prepared themselves. Junichi cracked his knuckles as he set his eyes on Sho's carefree expression.

With poised eyes Sho began nonchalantly walking out of the tunnel and simply said

Sho: "I'm hungry"

Team W followed behind Sho as they all walked out onto the outdoor center field. By the time they all got out to the field, Team Y was already stretching in their positions.

Junichi was right behind Sho as he breathed in and out to better prepare himself mentally. His eyes were still set on Sho as he walked next to the unmoving ball in the center of the field.

Junichi suppressed the urge to take the striker position from Sho as he sighed in defeat and took the midfielder position behind Sho.

Someone on the opposing team nudged his teammate and snickered.

???: "Looks like Team W finally showed up."

Sho turned around, looked at Junichi and noticed the sweat on his forehead.

Sho: "If you're getting nervous you can get off the field. You won't be needed anyway."

After everyone was in their positions, Sho whispered inaudibly to his teammate in the center of the field. Jinpachi Ego turned on the intercom and said

Jinpachi Ego: "Game Start."

As he said those words, Team W ran at the ball. Sho realized this and immediately turned away from the opposing players and simply stared at Team W. His cold gaze reminded them of the time he broke Keisuke's face so they all listened to their instincts and stood still as Sho turned back to the opposing team with the same cold gaze.

In the time it took to turn around, Sho instinctually triggered his Spatial Awareness, analyzing the position of every player on the field. Everyone on Team Y stood still at their positions on their side of the field as they waited for him to cross the line.

Sho immediately punished them for not pushing and took a few steps away from the unmoving ball. From the halfway line he tiptoed up to the ball and softly kicked the Spinless Shot over their heads.

The Blue Lock logo on the ball was clear as it traveled over every defender's head and swiveled past the goalkeeper's body, right into the top left side of the goal.

On the opposing team, a player with a blonde mohawk and a player with black hair that covered his eyes both sighed at the same time as the ball hit the net.

The goalkeeper on Team Y quickly forgot about the amazing shot and threw the ball past Sho, to his teammate with a blond mohawk.

Team Y Goalkeeper: "You got it Okawa!"

Okawa ran with the ball down the right side of the field as he dribbled past 2 defenders. Okawa's glad expression rose as he smiled ear to ear, running into the penalty area. He feinted a powerful kick with his right leg but softly lobbed it over Team W's goalkeeper into the net.

Team W's goalkeeper rubbed his eyes as he slowly got up and grabbed the ball. He glanced towards the clock as it read 5 minutes left into the first half. He consciously decided to wait out the clock so he waited till the very last second before he threw the ball out to Junichi.

Team W 's Goalkeeper: "We've got 5 minutes left until the end of the first half Junichi."

A player with long black hair that covered both his eyes easily stole the ball out of the air, and unexpecting kicked it across the field to Okawa.

Okawa immediately raced down the field and tried the same trick but failed miserably as Team W's Goalkeeper caught the ball with ease. As soon as he grabbed the ball, a loud ring echoed throughout the field.

Sho watched all this happen, and constantly found Eyeless in the same spots he wanted to be in, so he connected the dots and secretly figured out one of his weapons leading into the second half.

Everyone except Junichi and Sho were breathless as they slowly walked off the field. Sho looked behind him and stared at Eyeless as he talked with Okawa.

In Team W's locker room, the players were as quiet as mice as they drank from their Blue Lock squeeze bottles. A few unknown players from Team W wiped the sweat off their foreheads and slowly caught their breaths. An unknown player from the team quickly spoke out to everybody and said.

Random Team W Player: "Don't you think we need to think of a formation to attack them next half?"

A few players looked towards him but most didn't hear him as they were paying too much attention to themselves. Sho heard what he had to say but quickly remembered Jinpachi's words to; Throw away your common sense, so Sho left the room 5 minutes earlier than intended with those words in his mind.

In the locker room, everyone drank from their Blue Lock squeeze bottles, and wiped the sweat off their foreheads. As they all caught their breath, Sho walked out of the room and went back to the empty field.

In the empty field, Sho patiently stood at his position and waited for everyone. As he waited he heard soft steps coming from the opposing tunnel so he turned towards the tunnel and watched as Eyeless slowly walked out.

The two players awkwardly stared at each other until Sho cryptically said.

Sho: "We may have the same eyes but mine are much more developed."

Eyeless took notice of Sho's dark tone and softly said.

Eyeless: "What are you talking about?"

Sho looked amused at the reply and simply waved him off as everyone began walking out of their respective tunnels.

After everyone got to their positions, a loud ring reverberated throughout the field signaling the start of the second half.

An unknown player from Team W kicked the ball out of the middle and passed it to Sho. Now with the ball in his possession, Sho nonchalantly walked down the field and decided to show off his dribbling.

While Sho walked down the field, Team Y recalled his last shot at the center line so 3 defenders quickly ran towards Sho, while he waited for them at the center line.

As soon as they were at arms length, Sho ran as fast as he could and juggled the ball past 1 defender. The other 2 defenders ran with him, and constantly tried to steal the ball from his possession but failed miserably.

Sho used his Spatial Awareness as soon as he got in their side of the field and heel flicked the ball past the other 2 defenders.

Junichi positioned himself in the penalty area in hopes of getting passed to but was wishfully thinking as Sho came face to face with Eyeless.

Okawa: "You got him Niko!"

Niko stared at Sho's heterochromatic eyes as he grinned from ear to ear. As he grinned, Niko quietly said.

Niko: "Nice try."

Sho's once heterochromatic eyes turned jet black as he stared back at Niko. The void in his eyes dragged Niko's attention towards them as Sho kicked the ball in between his open legs, into the goal.

Sho's eyes changed back to the same heterochromatic eyes he was born with as he nudged Niko to the side. Niko stood still from fear and aimlessly ran around for the remainder of the game, resulting in Team W's first win.

The match ended with a score of 3:1 in Team W's favor.

Quick Question: Chapter 5 of Blue Lock manga, Ego talks about the penalty system, so my QQ is if your team as a whole loses points for a player getting a yellow/red card or just the player?
