Chapter 7 : Earn Your Place

"Hey Diamonds in the rough, Seems you have settled in..."

A screen started with displaying Ego's face while waving at 12 kids in the room

"So, the Lumps who are standing around you all are your Teammates and your Rivals, With my judgment I've analyzed your abilities to rank you, Your Rank is displayed on your Uniform"

Ego said while looking at Isagi as he had to make changes after the last match of Isagi, He had inside information about how Isagi fainted and couldn't play in the first half, He thought that Isagi's sudden burst was because of the desperation of going to the Nationals which he was looking for and chose to Rank Isagi higher

Though the ranking in the early didn't matter since they are going to change very soon

"Your ranking will change by the day depending on the training and games, Of course, that means a top player could become a bottom-feeder, Finally those in the top 5 will get to play for U20 World Cup happening 6 Months from now"

While Isagi was intently looking at the Screen as the Ego's intimidating tactic was about to start

"By the way, Those who fail in Blue Lock will forever lose the right to represent Japan, Now we'll hold an entrance test to measure you, Now let's play some tag"

As Ego finished speaking, A piece of Ceiling opened and a ball was thrown from there and the screen showed Igaguri's face as he was 'IT' for being the last ranked player, While this was happening Ego explained the rules for the Tag and the timer was started on the screen replacing Ego's face

"Ha...!, So I'm 'IT' because of my Rank, Well no hard feeling for those who get sent off"

Igaguri started running to anyone he was in range with, Isagi was the one he shot towards who just moved to the left and let the ball bounce away and started running at a place with fewer people

Igaguri realized that the high-ranking players were agile and could dodge most of his shots so he started targeting the low-ranking ones like Imamura, Naruhaya, and Iemon

While struggling he managed to hit Imamura but the deflection hit Naruhaya, Who became 'IT' while cursing his luck, He was positioning himself away from the ball so Imamura wouldn't target him but that backfired on him

He got to the loose ball and spotted the sleeping Bachira who kicked him like the canon event just the victim was different,

Isagi was standing near the ball with Kira who was sharing his thoughts about Blue Lock, Isagi understood that it was normal to panic but it wasn't going to change anything for him, He got kicked out on the first day for lacking luck and desire

It explains why Kira wouldn't have that much desire since he has been so popular from a young age and has been given the spot in the youth academy already

Isagi didn't want that to happen to a Player with potential, Not because he thought it was righteous but because Kira could become a good passer for him

"Kira, Show your desperation to play for Japan"

Isagi said to Kira which was heard by some players near them and ran towards the ball, He wanted to end the game of the tag with a powerful shot

He didn't stop the ball instead he positioned himself to make a shot which made everyone a little as to not knowing who he would target, Isagi had everyone in front of him except for Kira who he left behind

Kira was thinking of Isagi's words which were about to make sense 

But before he could process those thoughts he was hit with a ball in the stomach

"Ooof!"

'Huh...?'

Kira was already in deep thought and was now confused on top of it, Though as he stood up he started to understand Isagi's words' meaning, He meant it when he said to show desperation, Putting your Career on the line to Survive, This is what he wants me to show

Kira was inspired by Isagi after the last match and wanted to play with him once and now that player was testing him, He didn't like the fact that his career could end in a matter of seconds but could only fight to secure that spot

Everyone who saw Isagi making that shot felt amazed by his flexibility with that body

'Sorry, But I don't need a Drama Queen in Blue Lock'

Isagi thought as he saw towards Kira, Isagi didn't want to save Kira as if Kira is a Damsel in Distress, If Kira's fate was to get kicked out then he got a chance to change it now, He wasn't going to make that decision for Kira

He chose to let Kira show his determination if he wanted to stay

Kira started dribbling with a calm mind, He put all the worries about his career in the back of his head and started his run with the ball, He chose to target Kunigami as his bigger build gave off the impression of him being slow which he learned after a few tries and glanced at Isagi, Isagi wasn't going to be easy to catch either

Bachira although trying to make many chances for him by going towards Iga-guri and Kunigami but wasn't successful in any of those tries

After running aimlessly for a while he made a horizontal run, Trying to get everyone trapped in the corner, Some fell for this tactic and got cornered, Kira was much more focused at that moment as there were merely 10 seconds left so he positioned himself to shoot with his left leg

Everyone intently saw towards the ball and tried to dodge it but only jumped to fall as the ball never left Kira's feet, Kira made a fake shot and a shot with his right foot towards the bunch of players and it hit Wataru Kuon in the face

"Argh!"

Kuon became 'IT' and Kira's eyes were flickering in the same way Isagi's eyes did in the first Match against the Goalkeeper

Kira seemed qualified enough to stay and the time ran out as Kuon got to the ball, and lost his right to ever represent Japan

Isagi started walking towards the lockers and leaned on them while waiting for Ego to arrive, Kuon couldn't believe that his Career which he was ready to do anything for ended this early, Not even passing the Entrance Exam

Kira while seeing this felt how he ended the career of another player and felt many emotions but the one that triumphed over all those emotions was his excitement

There was another one who was also excited about this, Meguru Bachira, He saw the play and felt excited from the moment Isagi shot toward Kira, He believed that he had found his Monster at last

Ego arrived on the screen to break all those thoughts to kick Kuon Wataru from the Blue Lock
