Battle on the Ship

"You're kidding right? I mean look! You even have baby fat right here on your cheeks!" Shouted Leorio while pinching and pulling on Mary's cheeks.

"Pweaase staaap!" Begged Mary with a tear in her left eye. "I-I can't tell you why I look like an 8 year old but it's related to my sister."

Coughing to grab everyone's attention the Captain pointed to Leorio and Kurapika. "So are you two still going to stay silent? Or will you two just take the test next year?"

Taking a deep breath Kurapika began, "I am the last survivor of the Kurta Clan, four years ago my clan was massacred by a band of criminals. I want to become a Hunter and capture the Phantom Troupe."

"So you're out to become a blacklist hunter then! The Phantom Troupe is an A-class bounty. The more experienced hunters can't even touch them. You'd be throwing your life away."

"I do not fear death, the only thing I'm afraid of is the prospect of the rage within me fading away." As he said those final words his eyes turned red.

Mary's face grew paler despite how pale her skin already was. She had begun to shake a little before Leorio began to speak. "So in other words, you want revenge. What a joke! You don't need to become a Hunter for that."

Kurapika's eyes returned back to a light gray before responding to Leorio, "That may just be one of the most idiotic things I have ever heard, Leorio."

"That's Mr. Leorio to you!"

"Places accessible exclusively to hunters, information otherwise inaccessible, Actions otherwise impossible, there are more reasons than your brain could possibly handle."

Before Leorio could take any action as he was fuming with rage Gon spoke up. "Hey! Why do you want to become a hunter, Mr. Leorio?"

With a calm voice he responded, "Me? Well I'll make it short. I want money." Taking a short pause he became much more energetic, "Money can get you everything! A big house! A nice car! Top-Shelf liquor!"

"You can't buy class with money, Leorio."

"B-But doesn't it come with everything else, K-Kurapika? P-plus you would need money for information, t-that's what my uncle taught me. Well that's what my uncle taught my sister."

Putting his hand on Mary's shoulder he whispered, "thanks," before turning to face Kurapika. "Three, that's the number of times you've disrespected me." Beginning to walk towards the door he continued, "Step outside, I'll end the disgusting Kurta bloodline here and now."

"Take that back Leorio!"

A flash of lightning passed as the tension between the two grew thicker.

"Take that back!"

While looking Kurapika directly in the eyes he said, "That's Mr. Leorio to you." And walked out of the room with Kurapika beginning to follow closely behind."

"Hey boys! I'm not finished yet!" Shouted the captain.

"Just let them go." Said Gon

"Huh?"

"Aunt Mito once told me 'if you want to learn more about a person. Find out what it is that makes them angry.' It's important for them to understand why they're mad. So we should let them settle it themselves." Explained Gon.

"E-even So, I can't help but worry about them. I'm going to go make watch them to make sure neither does anything too rash."

Out on the deck two people can be seen facing each other off as nearby workers lower the ship's sails.

One armed with two wooden swords linked together by a thread. And the other with a knife. Waves came crashing onto the ship throughout their stare down. Nearby a waterspout heightened the overall tension of the situation. Nearby a little girl stood watching intently, it was of course Mary. However, before they could engage one another one of the workers was flung in between them, barely missing Mary and in a few moments would be thrown into the deadly waters. Reacting quickly the three of them ran as fast as they could in an attempt to save the man, barely missing him. And it was then when he was already overboard when a little boy in green clothing came flying through the air and grabbed the worker. Nearly meeting his end the Leorio and Kurapika were able to barely grab his legs, saving both him and the worker. Mary came close to helping, but with her smaller stature and smaller reach she came just a bit short in being able to help.

With the five dangling on the edge of the boat and the sails already been lowered the other workers came to their rescue, pulling the five of them up.

A few moments passed for everyone to catch their breath, having successfully maneuvered past the water spout Mary, Leorio, and Kurapika were safe. Gon was safe physically, but of course he wasn't safe from a scolding.

"You idiot! If we hadn't grabbed your legs, you'd be shark bait now." Shouted Leorio.

"D-do you have any idea how worried you made me?" Said Mary with tears in her eyes, "You're my first friend in a long time! I seriously can't believe just how reckless you are!"

"Honestly... How reckless can you be?" said Kurapika while shaking his head.

"But you did catch me, Mr. Leorio, Kurapika."

"Huh?" Responded the three

"You caught me!" Answered Gon with a smile on his face.

"Well I guess so..." said Leorio in disbelief.

"Gon!" Running towards them came the worker they had saved.

"Mr. Katzo!" Shouted Gon with a clear happiness in his voice.

"I still wish he would be more careful." Thought Mary to herself.

"Maaaaaaaryyyyy, you know I'm getting bored in hear!!!! The corpses just don't have the same feel as they do in real life." Spoke a voice in Mary's head.

As Gon and the rest continued their nice conversation Mary excused herself saying she needed to use the restroom.

Inside the ship. Mary could be seen grabbing her head with both hands as her hair shifted from blonde to platinum constantly. Her eyes red to blue. And the overall air around her becoming suffocating.

"She's growing stronger, soon it won't be long until her bloodlust comes out in full force and she takes over, I can only hope that I can keep suppressing her until the exam is over."

From behind her came the sounds of footsteps, they were light, like the sound of a child. "Mary! Guess what? The captain said we all passed his exam!" Shouted Gon excitedly, noticing something seemed different about her he continued, "Are you ok?"

As a strand of blonde hair fell to the ground and the rest disappeared Mary turned around to face him, "O-of course! I'm just a bit tired from all the excitement!" Said Mary with an awkward laugh at the end.

"Me too. But I also have so much energy! I can't wait for the hunter exam!"

Chapter took a while to get out, got stuck on dialogue for a bit. I feel like it’s getting easier to write though so having to delay a chapter by a day shouldn’t happen again... hopefully. Anyway let me know what you all thought of this chapter and if I should add some more descriptions or whatever.
