Silas and I watched Liz disappear through the trees where the party took place. Silas stood behind me, and I heard very clearly when he stepped closer to me. His fingers brushed my arm gently. His warmth radiated all over my body. A shiver rolled down my spine, perhaps because moments ago, he wasn’t so gentle—not that his anger was directed at me.
